I installed my lift a few weeks back and the Trac light and ABS light have been on since. I was finally able to get to a shop and have a proper alignment done and had them also pull the code. They were able to track down the issue to the driver side ABS wire which had no continuity to the sensor. So my dumbass must have stretched the wire during the install.

Without having to spend the $70 on a new harness, does anyone have tips on fixing this? Will soldering some extra wiring in do the trick? Or is it as simple and peeling the harness back and connecting the wire to the sensor again?

I don't have any direct knowledge of this. But it seems like if it is just standard wire you should be able to fix it by normal means. At this point you don't have much to lose by finding and fixing the break. However if it was stretched to breaking that usually takes place at the connection rather than in the middle of the wire.

My exact thought, if I completely trash the harness trying to fix it, I'm out the same $70.

I guess the only worry is messing the sensor up as I bet those can be $$$

Hmmm, Im going to try and fix mine tonight. Maybe you just need the code cleared?

And are you sure it was just the pass side? Maybe try unplugging the battery for a night and see if that resets anything?

Does anyone know the part number for the driver side speed sensor harness?

I'm not sure if I can fix it and I have a road trip next Tuesday I need to prepare for.

I soldered in a section on mine. Been fine for 3 years.

I actually managed to do the same. Do you know if the blue and white wires are side dependent? I tried to match the orientation from the passenger side but my lights are still on.

If someone could tell me what the orientation is of the wires at the connector in the engine bay and at the sensor by the wheel I could confirm if I reattached them right.

I just drove 10 miles and my lights are still on.

Did you disconnect the battery to reset the ECU?

    Can't help with the orientation.

I'll try that. Should I leave it disconnected for a certain amount of time? Then drive around for a bit?

It only takes minute. Count to 30 then hook the cable back up.

Did the wires get pulled out of the connector or something? From my experience at work, the light will go out after driving like 20 feet once the issue is fixed.

Hmmm the lights are still on.

Anybody with a 2nd gen care to take a look at the wires and let me know the orientation of Blue and White?

When I installed my lift I stretched the wire. I completely took apart the harness and found the disconnect, soldered in new wire, but I may have gotten the white and blue wires wrong when I put the connectors back on the harness.

This may not be a lot of help, but I couldn't get the shielding off at the abs sensor connection to see the orientation of the wires, but in the engine compartment, the green wire connects to the white, and the red connects to the blue. When you took the harness apart, were the wires spiraled together through out the harness?

That does help, and yes the blue and white were spiraled through the harness when I took it apart.

If you disconnect the sensor from the wheel, and peak in at just the right angle you can see the leads on the connector.

    Appreciate the help!

EDIT: just checked and I have the wires wrong in the engine bay so ill have to change that in the morning. Pulling the connectors apart is a PITA.

Hopefully you wrapped the harness back up with them still spiraled.

I tried to disconnect the connector, but I didn't have a little screw driver to help get it off since pushing the tab in wasn't enough.

Not sure why that would matter, I think I had the harness about 3/4 undone when I found the disconnect so a piece is still spiraled. I then used shrink wrap and electric tape to wrap them back up.

It's not as tightly spiraled as it was but it is a little. Worse comes to worse I'll just buy a new harness.

The spiral is called a twisted pair and helps to prevent signal corruption from electronic noise. The most common use that you use everyday would be in network cables.

    All good!

Changed the wires in the pin and the lights turned off before I could leave my culdesac. Thanks everyone who chimed in!
