You wasted my time by not telling me which SCS wheels you had converted to beadlocks and which shop did the work :argue:

SCS works with OMF Conversions. I contacted Vin, asked a bunch of questions told him what I wanted, he mocked up a sample photo of what the wheel would look like and had it sent off to be made. OMF Conversions is local to me so I just picked them up at their shop.

The problem with the widget making business is how to protect your product. Also you have to ask "what is the barrier to entry" for another business to make what you make cheaper. Patents and copyrights protect this aspect.

Then the other issue is scalability. If you get 100 orders or 1000 orders at once, how do you handle this.

People will always pay for quality as long as they know that a product is made to order, handcrafted by capuchin monk artisans or whatever, as long as they know and understand this.

I think it's good that OP posted this because I've been thinking of some new wheels and I really like what Vin and his crew are making. I wouldn't have known about his product without knowing this story of what's going on.

went from too much desert driving to snow. i been on that road a bunch of times and was a "fuck it " moment. looks worse on video, was smooth sailing in the truck.

you only learn what you can and cant do by actually doing it. theres a lot of people posting in the bs thread all weekend every weekend that i wouldnt trade places in that video for.

EDIT: those are the best excuses i got. maybe i should get some vtx wheels so people forget about that video?

Naw, its cool, I'll never live that down. I could have kept quiet and not let it known what happened and I knew that when I posted that up I'd get shit for it forever. In the end it did help some others catch cracks in their gussets before it potentially turned into something worse.

I must say, you guys have a lot of hate for someone you've never met. Maybe some of you have over the Internet or in person out on the trails. I met Rich at the Yota Mafia meet in Atlanta, Ga last weekend, and I told him I had his competitions wheels; Stealth Custom Series. He was totally cool with it, didn't bad mouth the product, or talk shit. He might have taken some ideas, or thoughts to making his wheels, but you could also argue the Stealth 6 wheels look a lot like Icon Vehicle dynamics Six Speed wheels..I don't hear anyone talking shit about that...I'm just sticking up for someone that has the same interest that a lot of people on here have and that's off roading/Overland and the love for Tacoma's. please read the attached link and keep in mind Rich is a Toyota fan just like each and everyone of you, he's not out looking to steal ideas or make trouble.
