thanks buddy! yeah there's always more to do... I eventually would like to be the 3GEN version of Sean aka defconbrix's truck... I have a few goodies standing by for when I get back and then I'll be hitting up Nathan @CBI Offroad Fab for some more goodies to pair up with the front and rear T3 bumpers :)

I also did a WRB hatch build right before this truck lol 2014 STI to be exact. got pulled over going waaayyyy too fast (110 on i80 near Kingvale, CA) and decided it was time to build a truck. insurance also decided that

Your truck will last longer than that EJ25 as well. Those things are ticking time bombs. New FA20DIT is no better, that's what I traded in for the Tacoma.

I have a few small goodies waiting to be installed and then when I get back the rear will def need dakars for all the added weight... contemplating new wheels since the methods were the same exact ones I had on my Raptor and I want something different for the Taco... but that's a lot of money since i'll need 5 lol im thinking on rotiform siz-OR but have yet to see any on my color truck so im a little worried I wont like it... time to find a good photoshop guru on here lol

Curious to hear how you like the rear bumper. I'm getting ready to get the high clearance version and debating between single, double, or no swingout...

I love my bumper! wouldn't change a thing... when building my bumper a few things I considered... where would I be using it, how often, what effects from single to dual would be different etc.
the dual set up worked best for me for a few reasons... I am currently using the truck as my daily driver so when I go into a store parking lot or any congested parking area the single swing arm would be way too long and cause issues like blocking traffic or possibility of being hit in the parking lot while loading groceries in the back etc. there is also weight concerns with a 80 lb spare wheel and 33" tire, two 5 gallon Jerry cans, possible hi lift and a few other small accessories (cable lock, trasharoo etc) would all be weighted down onto one single swing arm/axis. that's a lot of stress on one point. the single arm would be okay for a while but the weight over time concerned me... on the other hand with the single arm you have a large and long table/work area with the fold down table... on the dual swing arm the tables are much smaller but are just as functional depending on your uses/needs. be weary as well that with an all steel rear bumper w/ swing arm (single or dual) you will need to do something along the lines of Dakar leaf springs to assist with the added weight. I have a hard camper shell and the rear bumper now and noticed significant sagging. the dakars without an added leaf are suggested for use with additional 300 lbs constant weight... if I ever decide to get a roof rack and add even more weight the add a leaf would be required. hope some of this info helps make your decision but either way you can't go wrong with @CBI Offroad Fab T3 series for the 3gens!

Awesome thanks so much for the info. I was really wondering about pros/cons between single vs. double, this gives me a lot to consider.

I have Dakars now, and was running the extra leaf before but took it out since I didn't strictly need it (have a RTT, bed rack, hilift in the rear, so probably around 300 lb). Sounds like I will probably want to put the extra leaf back in when I get the bumper.

I've got a T3 aluminum front arriving any day now, super excited :). Should have gotten the rear at the same time!

You wont be disappointed! I love the set up and get compliments all the time! just make sure to use locktite/thread locker on all the bolts and paint mark them for reference incase any bolts start to come loose... good little trick especially is you drive it hard off road.

Love the look of that rear bumper. How much did it run you all in, shipped? I don't see options for dual swing-outs on CBI's website, so can't get a price that way...

Nathan and I worked together on a combo since I got the front and rear at the same time... plus I did a full write up on the install for them so hey helped me out with pricing... if I recall it's still the same price as the single swingout but you still pay separate for the options like powder coating, Jerry can and fold down tables. They're currently at overland expo so I would just give them a call when you can or wait until they get back since I know they're crew all rolled out to debut their new items at the expo

Was there a reason you didn't opt for the HC bumper instead? They've already told me they could do that version of what you have, just curious. Looks great. I'm currently in talks w them for the front end

Mainly weight... with the camper shell, spare tire, Jerry cans etc I didn't want all the extra weight. If I did more hard core off tossing thhen I would have considered it but I'm already carrying an extra 300 lbs and that's with the bed empty! So you could only imagine more weight lol if you truly need it then it's worth getting but I do trails and fire roads with minimal rocks/boulders... I didn't want to beat up a $35k+ truck so soon lol
