Just ran my vin. Nothing popped up. Why did they exclude the off road models?
I will look under my truck for leaking tomorrow morning.
There goes the resale value. Looks like I'm stuck with the truck now since the value is going to tank.:p (Joking)

So is it determined that auto's have the issue, or non-off roads or ? Is there a pattern?

Ok. Thanks. Both OR and Pros both have the same rear end, right?

Yes. They have the locker. But doesn't mean they wont be recalled later. Most pictures posted here of seeping diffs are on off road models.

And manual trans trucks. Looks like the pattern is the 8" axle models are being recalled and the 8.75" models aren't.

I thought I saw an SR with a MT 4cyl say he was on the list. Been flipping through too many threads today and may be getting posts mixed up now.

    Mods coming soon...
I have a 2016 TRD OR DCSB. I'm not showing up on the recall notice yet but I have some seepage on both sides of the diff cover. Nothing wet but definitely discolored from fluid.

This my forth Toyota 4x4 & between the springs, tranny TSBs, headliner rattles & now an actual recall I can say this by far the most disappointing Toyota in terms of overall quality.

The sad reality is it seems that almost all new vehicles have their share of issues these days.

Strange that so many OR seem to have seepage but they are not included in this recall.

2017 OR, not on the list. On quick inspection this afternoon, no obvious leaking. I have the howl, but not expecting this recall to have any impact on that issue. Disappointing.

No offroad is currently being recalled but it is suspected that it could be related to the howl. Faulty hardware could allow the diff to get out of alignment and start howling

Hope they kill two birds with one stone. But if that's the case they acknowledge the diff has been damaged and are now on the hook to replace them. So that can be opening another can of worms

Toyota spotted my differential leak during the 5k service and replaced my gasket. That was last month. The howl is still there.

    Yup. That's my plan.
But if it's not leaking anymore would they still?
