It's not what I have done to my 3rd gen, but what I have done FOR my 3rd gen. I made a hoist that lifts my CVT tent off while attached to my RCI bedrack.

Now, when I wanna go camping, I just lower the hoist and attach the 6 bolts that connect the rack to my bed rail and off I go.

    Check out the video.

This is exactly why I love the Hackensack Toyota here in Jersey. They are absolutely amazing. One of the best toyota dealerships I've been apart of. I literally just took my truck in for 15,000 maintenance and mentioned the blinker. No questions asked, switched it from 3 to 5 no problem. Didn't cost a penny.

Thanks. I will put a parts list together and share some photos of the actual mechanics as soon as I get some time.

Dropped my 17 OR off today with just over 4100 on the odo to get the 5k service, an oil change, and I brought in the TSB paperwork for the transmission and rear diff recall stuff, and asked them to check the diff to make sure it wasn't low from the factory. Also noticed that my driver's side speakers seemed much quieter than the passenger side ones. Picked it up a couple hours ago and they said it has the latest software for the transmission, diff is good on both issues, oil changed, and they ordered two new speakers for the dash and door on the driver's side, so those will get replaced next week.

I have the QI case for my iPhone 7. The bottom of the phone needs to sit on the driver side on the charging pad.

I would. Don't give them any excuse to weasel out of fixing it at their cost.

I agree with you regarding returning the truck with the mod undone.

But I'm convinced that the stock breather valve is a bad design and part of the diff problem. It traps a high level of negative pressure. The vacuum on the back side of the seals and gasket is a possible cause of failure. My humble opinion.
