I am loving my heavy duty crossbars and they allowed me to mount my rtt no problem. We were able to make our trip thanks to @KB Voodoo and the fast shipping. Excellent propduct. Top knotch vendor and product.

I do have a question though, is there a torque spec I should tighten the racks down to? And I assumed I should try to even the spacing to have equal overhang on each side...??? I only ask because I noticed mine began to bend the plastic side rails and I am not sure if I tightened them too much or not enough...It seems like i have some slight side to side movement (you can see where the plastic was rubbed/damaged) but I have my rails pretty tight. I am thinking of putting something underneath the crossbars to give the weight more area to press on in hopes it wont do anymore damage and wont move. What have others done in the past?

    Glad you like them!!

No need to torque them down like crazy, but also make sure they're snug.

The plastic side rail caps suck, and we'll have them available for the 3rd gen Tacoma's really soon.

Looks like the owner of that black truck in the picture drilled through his off road tracks (stupid idea)to mount them since there seems to be no mounting bracket that would work for them.

These vs. your high rise bars. These hold up to 400lbs in center. What will the high rise hold? Also, primary goal is to attach a Yakima box, will both suit that purpose?

If I order the high rise can you powdercoat the bars black (even if a cost)?

Love your designs and appreciate your help to the 3rd gen owner.

Both are plenty strong enough for the Yakima box.

We only have the Hi Rise bars in aluminum color, but they can be easily sprayed black if you don't like the way the aluminum color looks on your truck.

I am looking to mount my James Baroud Hard shell RTT. I have a new 2017 DCLB.........will these work and support that kind of weight. With 2 people sleeping probably over 500 lbs? Thanks

Will this support a roof top tent in this configuration?
