Yeah on the suburban forums people love the 6.0

    But hate the 5.3

    Supposedly after adding cylinder deactivation
    Lots of problems

Good luck with the new ride. I have friends with the 16 Ford and the new 17 gas Titan ... both good trucks, I like the Nissan V-8 with the rubber floor interior a bit better. Lack of tech but a good Truck where you have to use the mirrors to drive/park instead of relying on camera/sensors.

Indeed ! Much like the Titan forums too ... this and Tundra Talk are the best. Personally I like when people of different trucks stick around and tell the issues good and bad ... helps everyone !

That's the resale of the 2nd Gen not the 3rd Gen.

I say if they were such a great truck you would see alot more of them on the road. They are very few of them out there. From what I have heard from afew reviews they are having a couple of issues . I can t remember exactly but I want to say it was with tranny

How does that hurt resale value? I don't get it.

You get $12K off a truck in rebates and you might be forced to sell it again in the future considering the value to the rebate you received? So doesn't that make no effect on resale?

Not trying to start an argument here but I legitimately don't get it.

Just because it has a lever doesn't mean it can't be shifted while moving. I envy those that still have a lever.

Electronic transfer case controls are NOT a step forward. They are one of the most failure prone part of a 4wd system. Several 3rd gen owners have had issues. With a lever, you can feel each shift and use a little finesse to make sure it's in gear. With a button or knob, you have no idea what the fuck is going on with the Tcase (sorry...ranting about a pet peave)

^this...I wasn't concerned about this when trading my Tacoma towards my f150. Yes the trade value is higher on the Tacoma because dealers sell them at msrp or higher. F150s and silverados may not hold the same resale due to discounts initially received but you still recoup about the same because of this.

Something else to factor in, tacoma owners tend to be more meticulous with their truck and cult like with loyalty. While owners of the other full size tend to use them as "work" trucks and for the most part are hard on them. When you find clean used examples or f150s or silverados (outside of base LTs or XLTs) they have good resale as well

So far in my time of ownership my f150 as been flawless as far as reliability. Time will tell in the long run. I truly enjoy the v8 and space inside. Gas mpgs have been the same as my taco. Parking sucks sometimes and some of the plastics feel cheaper but I bought an XLT not a platinum or lariat so this was expected.

You mean issues like the truck you're driving ?

... Titans are good trucks, nice V-8, great warranty. If I needed the room I would have no problem getting one, just like I'd still buy a 2.9 Gen if my 2nd gen was totaled or stolen.

It's like anything, you keep up with good maintenance and probably every make can last 300k. Lots of high mileage trucks out there.

    Indeed, miss my Tundra.
Don't miss the Tundra on this though, it was thirsty but the 5.7 is reliable and my favorite V-8.

These titan diesel pro4x look like amazing vehicles. I am not a fan of the front end grill or headlights but I guess it could grow on me. Maybe I can test drive one. I really prefer a mid size however.
