Anyone know of any good public trails in or around Billings? I'm looking for some off roading I can do without having to drive several hours to do it!

Post up in the Montana Taco thread (linked below) - at least have a captive audience. I personally don't know of a ton of places to go near Billings. Gotta point yourself west and then the opportunities are endless.

    Here we go again!
Pryor Mountains are a great place to start. Although some roads don't open till late spring. There is two off road clubs in Billings. Later in summer the Beartooths and surrounding areas great.

I've thought about the Pryors, but I know there's a lot of private land up there too. Seems that and Red Lodge well be the closest.

Btw: the Montana taco thread was pretty much useless to me: :)

I've heard about a few trails around the Pryors, but haven't tried any out yet. I'd love to give some of them a try, though!

Is Montana still frozen this time of year? Im in CO and got some time off starting May 25th... Could use a "stop and fish" type of road trip.
