I did a fairly quick search and it looks like there aren't many options so I thought I'd ask the collective wisdom here. My son comes home from college next week and then I'm going in for cancer surgery. So, I'd like to head out with the truck and RTT for a 1-2 nighter with him before i'm house bound for a while.

What I'd love to do is a little beach driving and if possible camp on the beach with the RTT. I've looked around and found Long Beach, boring and no camping. Cape Dissapointment sounds crowded.

Could anyone offer up any suggestions? It may be that we could do some beach driving then camp on a bluff and listen to the waves crash below us. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ocean shores allows beach driving and Ocean city state park is a great choice that's nearby (roughly 2 miles north of Ocean shores). Depending on when you go there's the possibility of whale watching from your campsite.

Best of luck on finding the right place and fighting the good fight.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
There are a some spots south of and around Pacific Beach and Moclips. I think this time of year though, the amount of beach driving is limited. I am usually there between Christmas and New Years. There is a state camp ground at Pacific Beach that is basically on the beach with out being on the beach. Further north up Hwy 101 there is Kalaloch. Not sure if it is state run or not. Further north there is the Hoh Ox Bow Campground. It's off the beach quite a ways, but I have used it as an area to crash when out in that area. Both Kalaloch and Hoh Ox Bow are right off of Hwy 101 so they can be a little noisy, but not bad if you can get a spot further away form the Hwy. I don't think you can camp there, but if your out in that area Ruby Beach is worth going down to.

Wish you the best on your fight and hope you have fun with your son.

Thanks much. I'll look into the Pacific Beach and Ocean Shores area.

I'm hoping to get out in the next two weeks depending on surgery date.

Moclips is a bit quieter than Pacific Beach, imho.

    GL on the surgery, mang.
