    Hey all,

I'm in need of replacing my suspension. I have decided against a lift kit for a number of reasons but have decided to replace all suspension parts with OEM if possible.

My truck is an 04 xtra cab with SR5 & TRD packages. The existing struts and rear shocks look to be TRD/Bilstein. This is what I would like again since they lasted such a long time and ride so well. Anyone know where to find these from Toyota?

They were manufactured by Bilstein so if you're concerned about quality, I'd look at their aftermarket offerings such as the 5100 series. The coilovers are height adjustable so you don't have to lift your vehicle to have aftermarket parts. There are several brands that offer stock height suspension setups that are higher quality than oem. At this point you're not going to find oem take-offs with low miles on a first generation truck like I could with my 08. Buying oem suspension parts from Toyota, if even possible, would be a waste of money when the money could be spent on much higher quality parts perceivably for the same price. There are several brands out there that will outdo the oem parts in terms of quality and performance.

You can check out , , and just to name a few websites that have a lot of these parts. You can compare prices with oem (not necessarily TRD either) parts here:

A quick glance made it look like it would be $200+ per coilover if you reuse your tophats and hardware.

If you're not going to lift, just get the Bilstein 4600s. The ride the as the 5100s just lack the height adjustability. I will never put another shock on my Taco than the aftermarket Bilstein. You thought the factories rode good, wait til you try these :)

Sorry can't help I'm still on stock 265k mile TRD springs. The OME 880s provide about .5" lift for double cabs, and about .75" for ecabs.
