I just removed my front wheel bearing assembly on my 06 taco fwd to replace it. I don't see any kind of gasket or o ring behind it. Is that right? What happens if there isn't one? I don't see anything leaking

Bringing this thread back to life.

I replaced the hub assembly and still having a growl front driverside. There was a spring-loaded seal behind the hub assembly in rough shape. Did everyone replace this with their hub assembly as well?

Did you ever find out if that seal (front axle hub oil seal) needed to be changed at the time of replacing the hub assembly?

I’m about to change my hub assembly and wondering if this is something I should also do/look out for ?
