long story short is this. I just bought my wife a new jeep wrangler and she had to have a black one. I have a white Tacoma and looking to be a weekend warrior or better I suppose and keep these vehicles clean. I have watched so many videos and read so much but im getting overwhelmed when this is suppose to be relaxing and therapeutic for me ( yes hard but still relaxing). someone that details their vehicles on a regular schedule and or knows their way of the order to do things could you please pm me? I would love to have a hope a brief conversation about the order or products they use to get the best results.
I do have somewhat of a clue I suppose its just the later stages like waxes, polishes, finishing, compounds, swirl remover, iron remover and on and on I get hung up on. also, curious as to how long that I have until I need to do these processes again vs just washing the vehicle.
so for the towels I get everything from The Rag Company. I do use the 2 bucket wash and I just ordered a foam gun with some foam soap from chemical guys. I have clayed the jeep and i have used a hand liquid wax and i have used a finishing detailer. i did order some clean slate that i think i might want to use to start from scratch with the help of the awesome members here and then work on my Tacoma. thanks again for the read

I bought a CR Spotless DIC-20 from Costco. It takes all of the minerals out of the water for a spot free dry. It is a lot of money to shell out but worth every penny in my opinion. Costco has the best deal I can find. I have gotten about 15-17 wash and rinses out of it and am just now having to change out the resin in the cartridges. I paired it up with a Ryobi pressure washer. Make sure the pressure washer is 2.5 gpm or less as that is how much water is produced by the spotless water system.

I also use a shop vac to blow out the water from crevices and hard to dry spots. I have only ever used a hose that was not used to vacuum any dirt as that dirt can stay in the hose then shoot out and hit the truck. The hose is connected to the exhaust of the shop vac. Because it has a fine particulate filter there is no danger of dirt in the container being shot out the back. I also use a special fitting that closes down the exit of the hose to speed up the air. It can be found at Home Depot as an accessory. It looks like a cone fitting.

When the car is dry I use Adam's Detail Spray. It smells awesome and makes the truck feel freshly waxed after each wash. I buy it by the gallon from Detailing.com.

I use a hard carnuba wax about once every 5-6 months. Always clay before.

Hope this helps. I understand about the feeling of being overwhelmed when watching Youtube videos about detailing...
