ETA: replaced the clock spring spiral cable and CC now works.

While driving, pushing the CC button at end of stalk to enable CC doesn't cause the CC dash indicator to light up. However, if I have engine running, but am not driving, and I turn the steering wheel to the left while pushing the on button, the CC indicator lights up. Despite the CC indicator lighting up, CC doesn't actually work. I cannot set CC speed.

I changed out the stalk with a new OEM stalk, no luck.

Before you ask, yes, I know how to use the CC. It worked fine previously, and I operate the CC the same way on my '07 4Runner and '07 FJC.

Did Toyota VIN check. My Taco isn't eligible for the recall. The part is quite pricey. Just watched a video on how to do the install...looks easy.

Yes, but they are not connected to the in-dash HU.

my 06 has the same issue. it's definitely the spiral cable. I rarely use it anyway, so just ignore it, thought I would like to fix it

Thank you for the kind offer. I already picked up the part from a local dealership. Have to get the Taco ready for my college kid so he can take it tomorrow.

Cruise Control now works! I did the spiral cable clock spring install and that did the trick. Thanks everyone for your wisdom and pointing me in the right direction.

I'm gonna bump this thread because my cruise isn't working and Bamatoy gave part number. My only issue is Toyota has already replaced my clock spring under warranty... About 7 years ago

I'm wondering how long Toyota covers parts they install? Regardless I ordered the $15 one on Amazon, for the ease of returning it if it's bad.
