Cubby Covers are accepting orders and should being shipping in the future.

When I got my truck I noticed that the bed compartments would allow get water and dirt in them after driving on wet days. So to help prolong the life of the ratchet straps, etc. I designed and printed covers to go over the slots while still allowing for full use of the doors. I also designed covers to go on the top if people would want those as well to insure that the compartment is sealed.IMG_20170509_172546248_HDR.jpg

I have been thinking about selling them as a set (3 for the wide compartment & 2 for the small) with adhesive attached so they can be mounted; along with plugs for the drain holes at the back of the compartment.IMG_20170509_172645926_HDR.jpg IMG_20170509_172724697.jpg

In my efforts to see if selling them is worth while, I made a poll to try and get a basis of where to start, they would probably run for $20 or less. If there is enough interest I can work on getting orders out (assuming I'm not breaking any rules of the forum, I'm still learning on here).

    Any feedback is appreciated!

I might be interested. Been thinking about sealing them up and I'd probably pay 20 bucks to avoid the hassle of figuring out how to do it myself. Hate how nasty they get inside.

Just tossing this out there, black to match the frame and there is a double sided tape one notch above the one you have in the pic that is also black and available in a bigger roll too.

I would certainly would buy a full set of 5 for $20. I believe most owners would as well. Nice to keep water and dust out. Make sure the tape you use is top notch (3M) or otherwise they fall off and are lost.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but how about just using a piece of black electrical tape on the inside of the boxes to cover the holes?...then, replace as needed.

I'd buy a set, been looking at how to do this myself, and if I could just buy the parts for $20 I'd do that with a smile.
Although, I'd paint them black to match before installing ;-)

Would there be a gasket for the door included?

While your idea sounds like it should work, the issue would then be how would you get the doors to fit into the slots? If you have tape over the holes on the inside then it would prevent the tabs from fitting in.

I haven't come up with anything for that, I would have to look into what could work with the stock doors. I personally bought a set of Mobtown doors and theirs provided a gasket since they are a flat surface. I will investigate this further.

Ah! I forgot about the hinge slots...I was thinking of the drain holes only.

Oh, and for adhesive, I'd use RTV gasket.

I thought about that but that would be a pain for some of the people that may not be mechanically adept; so I'll send them with the double-sided tape for an easy install. If people want them sent plain and want to use silicone as the adhesive, they are more than welcome. I just wanted to offer the easy option first.

Maybe I'm just silly but is there a 3d printing material in a color no one wants, so you can get it for astoundingly cheap?

    Neon pink? Poop brown?

Honestly I would take it for a significant price savings, if it bothers you that much, spray paint or dip it.

That's an excellent idea. I have been trying to think of ways to fill that gap. But was looking at it from the inside and not from the outside.

Let me know if this happens, I would be totally down to support. May I ask if you can possibly make it black in color?

It would make for some price savings but, not significant enough to make a difference. So I would rather spend more and have the color be right from the beginning instead of needing to paint or whatever afterwards; so I'll be planning to have it all black.

So I looked into the gasket and I'm currently thinking that I won't provide them unless there is a decent amount of interest by others. I do have an option for people that want to know.
