Do you guys prefer steel or aluminum? If you go bare metal, what are you coating them with?

Don't you have to remove the Perlfrybilt to change the oil? The RCI has that service panel built in.

I just got a full set of steel RCI skids and mine just has access holes for engine and transmission drain plug. The rest is solid. No service door. Ordered mine bare and I rattle caned mine. We will see how the paint holds up. I used KBS coatings on my sliders and couldn't be happier.

I just bought RCI IFS and transmission skids for my third Gen. Powder coat on the front, bare metal (will prep and paint) for the transmission. They should be here next week some time. Hopefully it was a wise choice. I have plans to get the remaining skids as well.

If only the pelfrey had the service door. Thinking RCI.

I recently installed a fox lift kit and it came with the sway bar relocation brackets. My sway bar now rubs pretty bad against the stock skid plate crossmembers. Has anyone found an aftermarket skid that leaves plenty of room for the swaybar in particular if it's been reloacated. I have been searching for a while and if I missed it somewhere forgive me. Thanks!

Nice! I got their sliders as well. Depending on weather tomorrow, I'll rattle can the skid and put it on

I'm thinking about sliders but not sure. RCI would be a brand I would consider but I live close enough to BAMF for local pickup so saving on S/H is a lot.

What do you like or dislike about the sliders? Do you know the weight for the set?

I did a local pickup at RCI...One of the reasons i picked them. But I believe they weigh 56lbs per side? Its listed on the website.

Just put them on today, and so far I really like them, install was easy and they are very strong for being bolt on.

I was really impressed with the welds! Rattle canned mine a dark grey, I do wish there was more protection for the LCAs. But the access panel for the filter and oil drain is what sold me.20170527_172616.jpg

I was under a time crunch due to poor and last minute planning. Called Tim at RCI and BAM! 2 weeks later I have full skids plus sliders sitting in my driveway to install in an overnight blitz! Cannot say enough about RCI and Tim in particular. Great customer service!

ARE cap, wade inchannel vent visors, weathertec floor mats, ranch hand grill guard, tuffy security boxes in bed, lockable tailgate handle. Still have stuff that needs to be installed and still have stuff ordered lol.
I have full set of RCI skid plates the only problem i have had so far is when i put transfer case skid plate on with stock exhaust the exhaust vibrates on the skid plate i had to space the skid plate away from exhaust on drivers side the skid plate was pretty much touching the skid plate.

I was reading up on all the skids but didn't see anything on an ARB skid. It sounds good BUT... 3mm???
Anybody have any gossip on these?

In my opinion 3 mm does not sound like a lot over the long haul. I would opt for something thicker if you plan to spend any time off road. A little extra cost upfront for something thicker will save money from having to buy something twice. Aluminum is a lighter option and thicker for a few more $ upfront.
