After reading some of the replies that other people posted I actually learned a few things myself lol. I am actually not very knowledgable on 2nd gen tech, so the whole shackle flip thing was interesting.

Anyway, yea, your springs are certainly flat. My AP 3" never looked like that at all.

One thing leads to the other and before you realize you'll be linking the rear too :D

Huh weird! You would think with a 10leaf pack they would be nice and stiff/arched.

I have been happy with my all pros, they were made by bettes who make good stuff, no idea who makes them now. I bent my 8 leaf deavers into an s pretty quick but damn did they ride nice for a few years!

    2nd gen problems!!:luvya:

That's not too bad then. And the pack isn't really flat. It's just the ends only have 2 thin leafs so the tips of the leaf pack sags. More like a curved M shape.

Yep same here very helpful replies! This is my first 2nd Gen I've owned, and truthfully I miss my 1st gen sometimes but I've grown to love this truck:D I would love to link the rear, but I'm a little concerned how it will drive as my DD.

I have always ran Deavers and loved them, going to re-stack these leafs correctly and give them a try...Oh and I'm with you on the 2nd Gen:luvya:

Not bad at all...Never to old to learn new shit! My truck sits waaaay lower then I was expecting, and Id love to raise the back up 1-2 in.

So you still have a stock rear axle? Whats the logic behind leaving the weak point like that? Looks like clean work, but I would've yanked that sucker post haste with the front ifs bologna.

Probably cause he spent a shit ton of money on the front :D
I'm not gonna worry about the rear until I get the front end done.

haha So @bullaculla hit the nail on the head. The stock rear axle will be just fine for now,as I do plan on taking her on some serious local trails...Just not boulder gardens:D When I link the rear I will upgrade then, just need to build back up the truck fund.

Exactly. Seem like they planned for only half the job. Looks like alot of work going or went into the current rear axle too.

True. The rear setup is badass. With all the money spent already, and new rear axle would be a drop in the bucket

Hmmm Never said it was only going on mild trails:notsure: With how much $$ is in the truck to get it back as my DD, only made sense to build the rear suspension now then drop a new rear end in later will be pretty easy. I want to drive/wheel it with Leafs in rear to see If I want to link it or keep leafs...Guess if I said truck is complete id understand... but she is far from complete:D

Naaa We planed exactly what "I" wanted to complete on first stage...Just need to build back up truck fund:thumbsup:

Truck will never be complete. These projects are always evolving:eek:

Don't let these guys harrass you too much about the rear axle :D 1st gen guys often pull it off with 37"s and stock rear axles, but those trucks are lighter and have less powerful engines.

I have no knowledge about 2nd gen axles, but since your truck is heavier and more powerful than a 1st gens, you might need to take it easier with the skinny pedal until you can get a stronger axle:p

so my viair 450P took a shit on me... what's everyone running to air up them large tars? Or are all the cool kids doing CO2 these days?

Been a while since I've looked at options. I know a lot of guys are big on the ARB compressors, but my front and rear lockers are lockrites, so not sure if it's worth the extra $$$

Edit: need to air up 37s

I just bought an ARB twin, but haven't installed it yet. I plan on adding a small tank and some moisture separators. My air system in my shop has line driers everywhere. Very humid in Hawaii.

Ah yeah super dry here. I luck out there, minus our seals don't last worth of shit thanks to the heat. I'm in the desert (AZ). Cheapest option would be to snag another Viair 450H and either hard mount it or swap the parts to make it a portable. The current one I have last 7ish years so it had a good run

I have a Smittybilt 5.65 CFM portable compressor. It connects to the battery directly through alligator clips.

To be honest, I don't care much for that brand. But a lot of guys I wheel with have this compressor and I saw how quickly they were able to air up with 37" and even 40" tires. So I decided to give it a try after borrowing one and seeing how powerful it really was.

It works really well; it's quite powerful. I find it easier to deal with portable compressors. Maybe one day I'll get a fancy onboard system with lines and all the bling. But for the past few years this portable compressor has served me well.

    This guy:

    http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/superflow-mv-50-air-compressor-mf-1050-mv50.html

I have been using this style compressor since the early 2000s. They kick ass and flow a shit ton of air for the price.

I like my CO2 setup, primarily because it was super cheap with stuff I had laying around. Kegerator CO2 tank and air hose laying around the garage. Just had to buy a regulator and go. The ability to run high air pressures is nice to put beads back on too.
