Advanced polls and absentee ballots haven't been added to the totals yet , and advanced voting was up 60% or something

Could all change by tomorrow morning seeing how either the Liberals or the NDP only need 2 seats for a majority

One seat short with a recount starting.

    I can't see a Green-NDP or Green-Liberal government surviving very long.

I don't think so because whichever side the Greens don't support won't have enough votes to trigger a no confidence vote

Our next election may very well be proportional representation too so even an election a year or 2 from now would probably not result in a majority for any party anyway

Get ready for the tyranny of the minority. Canadian political parties just don't know how to work together effectively. In the end this BC government will only last as long as the NDP do whatever the Greens want.

My thoughts exactly. Oh and fuck the NDP/Greens, I love how pipelines are the new chain yourself to a tree political issue.

New pipeline research has developed a design that won't spill oil. If that could be done, maybe the west coast would be safe. No one visiting this area of one of the most beautiful and vast rainforest ecosystems on the planet would ever think that hauling dirty bitumen with rusty, creaky tankers through this area is a good idea. We should at the very least be refining that tar into products and selling those and keep the jobs in Canada. At least if a finished product spills it can be cleaned up or will evaporate in time.
Everybody knows this, at least the cooler heads among us. Call it democracy, its messy but it's all we have.

Also no one in the world hauls gasoline overseas. No one. It's sold as crude. There are lots of reasons why, but long story short we will never succeed in shipping refined petrol overseas.

My comment remains, fuck the NDP/Greens. Snowflakes everywhere.

Our biggest customer is the US and they'll buy finished product.

No they won't. You have no idea what's even in the type of oil that comes out of the oil sands in Alberta do you? It's a heavy version of crude that yields things like petrol and diesel poorly if you attempt to refine it straight. What the US is doing is mixing our heavy crude with ultra light crude that is created from fracking operations in the Northern USA. That yields a very sweet crude.

Long story short, either we have to start shipping fracking oil up north which is a terrible plan or we have to keep shipping out our heavier product to be combined with the exact opposite kind of oil so that it can be refined with the highest recoveries.

This is also why trains are hauling US oil into Ontario/Quebec refineries. They also want both types of oil mixed so they can get super high recoveries. High efficiency makes sense. The weak link is the trains. Oil trains are way more dangerous than pipelines.

That's the funniest part. While the NDP and Greens talk about not building this pipeline there is already an old ass pipeline on the exact same route shipping oil LOL. Plus the oil trains that haul to BC... Yeah blocking the construction of that pipeline makes total sense ROFL.

It's a political ploy. Sad, but true. As long as money from overseas keeps flowing into Vancouver the province could give two shits about doing what is right nationally and will hide behind falsehoods all day long.
