Seat question for yall, I have a 2nd gen with cloth seats and find them fairly easy to clean. I am looking at another 2nd gen I really like but it has leather seats and I was wondering how leather seats stand up with wheeling trips/pets/general wear and tear vs the cloth seats. Ive seen many leather seats in cars that have cracked from age. I do not want to have to take special care of them, like using lysol wipes should largely be enough, maybe some special leather stuff every few months.

As long as you take care of them a little bit, you should be fine. I'm guessing all the people with cracked and shitty seats have never conditioned them. If you use some leather cleaner and conditioner every few months (takes like 15 minutes to do) then you should be fine.

Are the leather seats stock? And are we talking "pleather" or real leather?

Factory heated " Pleather " in my 2010 sport .
I do try and maintain them with conditioner but the bolsters do start cracking a little from sliding into and out of the truck.
I dont think the leather conditioner we get in the stores works as good on "pleather " as it does on genuine leather
They do however , hold up well with my clumsy heavy dog trying everything she can to puncture the seats with her nails and she rides shotgun every day

Cloth is not easy to clean, especially not the horrible Toyota cloth seats. Leather will show you just hiw bad cloth seats are.

I just got Clazzio leather seat covers for my 2nd Gen for the reason that they are more comfortable (the perforated cloth was itchy in shorts) and much much easier to clean.

You do need to keep leather conditioned though. It should be soft and plush, not firm.

I am assuming they are stock, but it's not a limited to my knowledge.

    Sorry missed that.

Virtually no leather seats are real. They are very expensive. I think even the Ford King Ranch seats are partially a PVC/Vinyl material on the sides.

I prefer leather but not a fan of the grey. They might pick up bluejean dye over time but honestly look in good condition so far. So might be good there.

It has a long bed and thats really the most important thing.

Leather seats don't come stock in these trucks. It's either a leather seat cover, or one that actually replaces the cloth on the seat. I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker for you. If you really don't like the leather, you could get some seat covers for them. Wet okole makes really nice ones that you can hardly tell are seat covers.

Find something other than a Lysol wipe. At least get a product made for interior.
