I would have added a small spacer to my bumps after that trip, but I chopped off all the IFS crap instead

I'm running a mid travel set up with Dirt King LCA/Desert Racing UCA and ADS 2.5 shocks. There is a lot a travel. All I was saying that the set up I have rubs a lot less with 700# springs than 650# springs.

Then it would probably would have been better to say that you rub less often with 700# springs vs 650s. You still have the same amount of travel, you just won't hit the ends of that travel as easily with the heavier springs :)

UMMM isn't spring rate to account for weight of the vehicle? I am running adjustable Kings with 650# on a 3rd Gen and it seems too plush, I talked to King directly and the dude said that going up to 700# would stiffen up the ride (I think it will ride better), and is needed for an aftermarket bumper... pretty sure it doesn't have much to do with uptravel... it might just make it harder for the spring to compress that much, but it wouldn't limit uptravel in terms of like range of motion...

Correct! lol That's the right way to say it. That's what I was trying to say.

Yeah, I had TC UCAs and LCAs, with fox 2.5 extended travel coilovers, and they allow for a lot of travel.

Update to my thread. I installed the 14" 700# Eibach coils onto my 2.5 IFP. Rides a bit stiffer, not as plush as the stock Fox/Eibach coils. Feels better IMO with additional weight up front. Here are my before and after measurements of preload and hub to fender.

    Before: 13" 600# Fox/Eibach coils.

How difficult was it to switch the coils ? As in the actual coils on the coilovers

Very interested in this also. I have these same shocks, just sliders as weight up front and I'm showing 2 inches of thread and definitely need another inch, inch and a half of lift to clear rubbing issues. I don't want to put 3 inches of preload on it if I can get a longer spring coil to help that. Is there longer springs with the same spring rate as the stock spring? I find the stock coil spring rate rides quite nice.
