Thanks so much! We are moving late this month/early June. We'll be staying at my in-laws in Cape Haze until we find a house.

North Port would seemingly be great given home prices are not-surprisingly more 'reasonable' than those closer to the beaches; however, if I'm not mistaken it's 20-25 minutes to the closest beach, e.g. Manasota/S Venice. Does that sound 'bout right? Any other drawbacks to North Point aside from the distance to the Gulf?

Admittedly I'd like to be a 5-10 minutes drive - max - to the beach. From what I gather, that'd put us in Placida, Englewood, S Venice, etc. By the way, we don't want to be on the S side of Charlotte Harbor b/c in-laws have a boat at Palm Island which I'm hopeful we'll get lots of use from :)

Distance to the beach just depends on where you purchase. You got the general idea from you posted. You can check out Punta Gorda as well. That is an up and coming town with low prices now that will increase in time.

I was basically just referring to that whole area north of fort myers, in the Charlotte County area. Juse locate where you want to be in regards to the beach and you should be good.

Drawbacks? None other than any other city. It is personal preference at this point.

I've shot at the range before. Anything good wheeling wise or just mud and ruts?

All we locals ask if you move into the Venice area don’t buy a home in a Neil community or support Neil home builders in anyway. They’ve single handily destroyed pretty much all the of Little bit of woods we had left in the area to throw cookie cutter home gated neighborhoods

I am in Cape Coral and just bought a 2018 TRD Spirt. I heard about about lazy springs but I have not made it there. Haven’t tried my truck in mud yet. Can’t wait to go there.

Hey, man. I know it's short notice, but I'll actually be at Lazy Springs tomorrow with a few buddies in some quads and in my taco. If you can make it out, it would be great to meet another tacoma guy in the area, you'll have tons of fun and your truck will handle it like a champ for sure. It's $10 per person and $10 per vehicle you'll be off roading in.

Thanks for the reply aleriance. I had to leave town for few days for business. I’ll give you a shout when I get back.

    Fort Myers over here

RIP your nerf bars... my first trip to Lazy Springs was a prime example of why to get rock sliders instead. My ass still puckers at some of the stuff there. I still want to grow up and do the steps.
