How's about a NOT FUN update. Driving to Deadwood, SD the other night I was graced with Peter Cottontail making a beeline across the interstate. Might not be too big of a critter, but at 80 mph does some decent damage. The grill mesh is smoked, but I am not certain that there is much more damage than that on the leading edge. The underside has some breakage though where the bumper connects to the rest of the body. I am going to see if I can source the grill mesh and Macgyver the bumper together underneath with maybe some JB weld or something. I have not taken a good look at the full damage. I was too pissed to even look to be honest.

How does one navigate this? I have never made an insurance claim, but is something this minor even worth the effort?

I have been eyeballing the Tigershark bumpers for these C5s so this MIGHT be just enough of a motivator to finally get one.

    Dang.
As far as an insurance claim...im guessing that depends on your deductible. Take it to a body shop for shits and giggles an get an estimate.
If it's less than the deductible, have it fixed out of pocket or look for something aftermarket.

Could have been worse. Little fella could have flew up into the engine bay and bounced around causing more damage.

Atleast it wasn't a coyote like the one pic being passed around.

Talk about a dead thread! But there's news... The Blue C5 is gone. Sold it last fall to a happy new owner! Sad day for sure, and I thought it would be a good year or so before I got back into another car.

Well I wasn't really shopping, but this car fell into my lap, and I could not say no! 2007 C6 Z06 with a good list of engine mods already completed. I'll be putting a build thread together eventually, and looking forward to a lot of awesome miles ahead!
