Exactly. Yet there was a whole thread flaming a guy about buying tools, using them once and returning them (which is also wrong). TW is an odd place sometimes.

The Internet. On another forum I'm on, everyone thought it was terrible to take obviously abandoned stuff in the woods, despite it being legal. But a thread comes up about finding gold in something you bought, a lot of gold, everyone is all like "I wouldn't tell anyone, just sell it off slow."

If you can figure out what the touch screen model # is, you can try here: http://opuradio.com/ I purchased a 2014 rav4 radio with a scratch on the touch screen and purchased a new one for $80 shipped dhl from them. It was the exact model of one I took out. 30 min later, no scratch.

http://opuradio.com/products-detail.php?ProId=1526 $99.00 this one is for 2014 - 2016 4runner but with jbl. Does yours have jbl option?
    http://opuradio.com/products-detail.php?ProId=1008 $108.00 for 2010 to 2013. May still use the same one on a 2016 4runner.

For a $700 savings, I'd tear that puppy open and get the model number of the touch screen and see if one of these fit. Or find one that does.

Thanks man, I'll try that out! Mine doesn't have jbl, but it does have nav. I'll have to pull it apart and and see if mine has the wire on the bottom or the side. I have a 2016 trail base package, no premium. So no leather or sunroof.

Just realized the first link is for a Panasonic radio. Any of the models listed your radio? Probably not as yours don't have jbl but they could use the same lcd and touch screen.

    86100-35181
    86100-35200
    86100-35160
    86100-35170
    86100-35180
    86100-35190

Forgot to mention that for the price, it also comes with a new lcd screen. So you get both.

Edit: This might help: . Guy has a 2015 but no jbl with nav like yours. His was a LG Display 6.1" LA061WV1 which is the same screen for the jbl.

Mine is a panasonic. That I know for sure. When i called the dealership, he gave me the wrong number to their own connection to panasonic which I called. They said that line was for dealers only. Which one is the question. I'm going to pull it apart today or tomorrow and see which model it is. Thank you for all this help! It's greatly appreciated. Sincerely.

Has anyone actually pulled the radio OUT of the faceplate? I have it out right now, the model number is 86100-35361, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this thing separated.

Stating this blinded as I don't know that radio but usually, there will be screws along the edges and possibly bottom and clips that hold the face plate to the radio. Can you take pictures of the back looking on the side towards the face plate? Maybe it can get figured out.

Also, looking at your model #, I am 99.9% that the first link, the one for jbl, is also for your radio.

So here I am. I gave up for a while on fixing my screen and now I'm all motivated to do this. Does anyone know how to detach the flat CPU wires from the screen??

That looks to be a zif connector.

Try this video. Basically shows how to remove it. You lift up on the connector and carefully remove cable.
