If painted on the exterior then a touch up every 3 months. Most opt to take apart their fogs and paint the inside. You could also paint and then cover with a laminate to help protect from rocks and debris.

Whoa that's a pretty noticeable difference.

I think I'm gonna order the Optilux and install on Friday. Seems like the Optilux (Hella) has a bit deeper/darker yellow. Will come back with pics.

not sure if this is a bulb problem or some other electrical issue, but thought I would share. The high beam bulb socket looks fine and is also Nokya but as you could tell in previous pics, they are different.

Noticed my low beam was not on, tried to remove the bulb and discover this.

Will likely have to install a new connector soon. I put a new bulb in (the other one of the 2 pack) and it works, however, I am going to be contacting Nokya. If they don't stand behind their product then I will have to get a better brand next time.

@thunderone are those high wattage bulbs? That's the first thing that comes to mind. Though I have experienced a melting socket even with stock wattage bulbs. I have no clue what the cause is though.

They're the stock wattage, supposedly. 55 watts.

I finally got the Optilux (Hella) H11’s installed. Here are pics at a couple different exposures to try to show color. I’m happy with them. It’s a dark gold color and not bright yellow.

This photo is unedited and actually very true to real life color. More true than the straight-on photos above.

Been running my Optilux bulbs for 4 years now. I wish headlight bulbs lasted that long!

I’ve got 2 years on my Philips X-treme Vision +100 (9003’s) and they’re still going strong. Awesome bulbs. $20 on Amazon. The +60’s are good too- plenty bright and will last longer than the 100’s in theory. These knock the socks off the Sylvanias everyone talks about. I’ve tried both.

Other than looks is there actually any advantage to using yellow fog's vs standard ones?

Also, is h10 the same as 9005? My stock fog lights say 9145 on them but there don't seem to be many options for that exact number.

Simply put, yes, there are some very real advantages to yellow light.

PIAA Ion Plasma Yellows. Not cheap. But these are 9 years old and going strong. They've been in 2 different Tacomas

I use H10 bulbs in my 2011 foglights. I just used the O-rings from the old bulbs on the H10s.

H10 and 9145 are interchangeable. 9005 is a high beam bulb with no forward glare cap, meaning exposing oncoming drivers to an unshielded light source, it should not be run in the fogs.
