Most murders don't involve hanging yourself.

I don't get it. If he hung himself why did they find the body on the floor?

I just read the medical examiner ruled it a suicide by hanging. My guess is that whoever went into the room found him and quickly cut him down trying to save him.

Very sad day for the music world, like many here I associate so many of their songs with my earlier days. Rusty Cage, just something contagious about the sound of that song. Will always bring back a lot of memories for me every time I hear it.

    Man hangs himself.

    News report says IMG_1882.PNG.jpg

So, yeah. If he was killed, he probably wouldn't have been hanged to death.

Goddammit, he was a married father of 3. If I wasn't so sad I'd be mad. That'll come later.

I have an opinion much as yours about celebrities dying. It happens. Chris Cornell though hit me hard. I grew up during the time of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc... Shannon Hoon kind of hit me hard when I found out the news as I love (loved) Blind Melon. Now there is only one out of the four major groups that is still around and here's to hoping Eddie is coping.

My wife and I had a conversation a while back about this very subject. The only person that I will most likely shed a tear for (that I've never met and never will) is David Gilmour. He was my inspiration for picking up my first guitar when I was 13. His music has been a part of my life for almost my entire life. I will most likely never get to see him play live and that saddens me. But the music he has made will live with me forever.

Chris Cornell... you will be missed my friend.

Fuck...sad enough he died but by suicide. Makes it even worse.

One of the staples of my high school years.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I don't play any instrument, so I'm not quite there. But that was my teenage years. Growing up especially in the northwest where this stuff was born. Garage bands playing grunge, the grunge punk, it was just how I grew up. Now, my all time favorite singer. Just a piece of me. I'm glad I got to see them in concert once... The live shows were always the best part of Soundgarden

I feel so fortunate to have caught him one last time. Soundgarden played a music festival in Somerset Wisconsin this past Saturday, May 13th. Wife was kinda annoyed as it was mother's day and I warned her I most likely won't be in the best condition the day after the show to celebrate your special day. It was a 4 hour ride one way and I dropped $75 for a one day wristband for the festival, pretty much to show up an hour before Soundgarden took the stage. They took the stage around 10 pm. Unfortunately half the crowd slowly filtered away throughout the show. By the end of the set there was hardly anyone there. It was kind of depressing. Not sure why. Maybe everyone had been partying too long all day and didn't have anything left. I dunno. I thought they sounded great. They played 75 minutes and walked off stage. No encore. Never played "Jesus Christ Pose" either, but maybe that's a young man's song that he couldn't quite get a handle on anymore. I dunno.

I heard the news on the radio on my way into work today. I thought it was a joke at first. I'm thinking, "holy shit, I just saw him!" Googled it at the next stop light and it looked to be legit.

Anyways, yeah, another rock giant from the 90's is gone. No more Alice In Chains (original anyways), no more Stone Temple Pilots, no more Nirvana, no more Soundgarden. I know I'm an old fart in my 40s now, but I firmly believe the 90s was a great decade for new music. Going to see Tool in early June in Chicago. Hopefully Maynard doesn't punch his own ticket between now and then.

    R.I.P. Chris

Thanks for all the awesome music over the years.

Also, while searching around for some answers on the internet today, I found this article with vid clips of him doing a lot of different cover songs. I thought it might be worth a watch.

Left 3 kids and a wife wondering why they weren't worth living for.... That's pretty brutal. Much respect for his music and talent, but I can't say I respect that...
