I received my truck today with the newly installed topper. Two questions for you:

    1. The dome light is hooked up to the piston- it only turns on when the lights are on. This seems asinine to me.

Is this how yours is rigged?

    2. The front window (I opted for removable slider) slider is only able to be slid open from the cab of the truck or by dropping the window down, reaching over, and then sliding it open and placing it back.

    This seem right?

    Thank you in advance!

PS- the wiring around the dome light looks like shit- not what I expected for the price point.

    1. Not how I would want ours wired. Snugtop dome light led just has a switch and you can turn on anytime regardless of truck lights.
    2. normal...Snugtop is same way. Only time I open it is from inside truck to let dog poke his head in.

1 - I intetionally opted for the battery dome-light in my topper for this reason. I wanted the wireing as simple as possible. Manual locks too
2 - I have the sliding/removable front on my Leer. In the one time I have used it, I think that's how it worked

Leer 100R. Decent topper, happy with it after about 3 years of ownership. Still looks good, and half-price of a snugtop.

    1. The lights are hooked up to the tail light of your truck. When its not on, no lights. You need to run a power wire from the battery to the back of your truck so you have a always hot wire for the lights.
    2. The only time you need to open the slider window is from the cab. What good is opening the cap's slider, when the trucks is still locked from inside the truck?

Thank you for the replies all. I was thinking if I was sleeping in the back and wanted to vent the cab up by my head i could reach up and slide the winder open.
