Switched from working on cars to being a service writer. We've replaced one expansion valve in the last three years.

I replaced the expansion valve on my wife's 4runner(for no reason) and it wasn't THAT bad of a job. The dash didn't need to come out, but a lot of shit did need to be unbolted and removed. Not sure if Tacomas are the same.

Is it just behind the glove box?

Some people will pull the entire dash for this repair, others can short cut it getting the heater box out from behind the dash but it takes some time.

So if it wasn't that then what do you think they could've done to make his ac work again? Unless they lied about the problem in the first place

So it was the compressor , and they said the condensor needed to be done to warranty the job the exp valve was not mentioned as to why they replaced it

The compressor was making some hellacious noises , before and there was hot air blowing

They did Evac it and recharge it the day before and it didn't work , they didnt charge me for that either (just saying)

Me and the other tech did an evaporator core in a 2009 4Runner in 4 hours flat. We worked like flipping mad men but it can be done. Start to finish in 4 hours. I've also pulled the engine out of a g35 in 48 minutes.

I loaded the Tacoma up at the grocery store yesterday with 4 (24) packs of bottled water in the bed . I would of taken pics and posted here but it was on the bump stops and I needed to get home fast . I abuse this truck with pizza pickups and grocery store runs, the wife sends me out and I gotta go .

But the tree that I park my truck under was dropping crap on the truck , twigs and just crap . I showed the tree and I cut the branches down and used the truck to carry the branches to the compose pile

    IMG_5574.jpg

I fixed that tree, so I guess the truck got the last laugh on the tree
