    hello all!

Is this the "weep" hole I should be looking at if there is a coolant drain?

I don't recall it looking like that but here is an image from the service manual.

How exactly do you burp the system after a thermostat change and radiator flush on a 4.0 ?

If you mean get the air out, I let the truck idle with the radiator cap off, and defrost on high heat (no a/c compressor on) until there were no air bubbles left.

You may need to add fluid as more air comes out. But you'll see it if you watch the radiator...

That second oring is used for the water inlet assembly. Because according to the fsm you're supposed to remove it when changing the pump.

Is this the 35654 Fel-Pro o-ring that some people are buying separately? I bought an OEM water pump and it only came with the large gasket. I had to buy the gasket that connects the water inlet to the water pump at Advance.

Looking to do this service soon. What I have on the list of things to get so far:
    Radiator
    Upper and Lower Radiator hoses
    Water Pump
    Upper and lower Pulleys
    Belt
    Coolant
    Thermostat
    Belt tensioner

Am I missing anything else? Figured if I was digging into it, might all well be thorough .

How do I know when I need to change the water pump? Don’t see any leaks, but my truck seems to run too hot

    A thing or two...
Generally, you don't have to change the pump unless it goes bad. If you're running hot and not losing coolant, then consider doing a drain/flush/fill of the coolant system and replace the thermostat.

Awesome I will try that. I do have 194k miles and I do not think the PO did the pump. It just seems to get too hot offroad or up hills. I thought fan clutch but I’m not sure.

Usually around 194-200 but will go up to 215 if it’s hot outside (100) and if I’m going up hill

I went off-roading and it got over 230 and I had to shut the truck off
