No and if it did we would have our answer I'm sure. What the camera captures is just flush from the levee. The field dips where the truck got stuck and the camera can't capture that.

Right but you'd think the person would have walked back to the road at some point. I'm not familiar with the area

Well if there was one pair of tracks going in one direction that was probably her stumbling off in a drunken escapade. Her being in a 4wd looks like she could've easily got out of where she got stuck but was too drunk to put in in 4wd. And then wherever she went is all hands on deck...

A lot of people seem to think he should've took her keys. As sensitive as it is, I seem to think her being an adult is not up to him. What do y'all think?

I think he's telling the truth, just scared. They ate in a very public place, went back to his place with other people there. Doesn't seem like he was trying get away with anything. He even offered to take a polygraph test. And I'm pretty sure most of us have driven after having a few drinks, Especially if we figured we knew a short cut home away from johnny law. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not trying to speculate on this particular circumstance or take up for him.

However, I think it's possible if a younger female feels comfortable with a older male, for her to seek advice from them, pertaining to another male etc. I also understand everyone has their opinions on what age is acceptable to be having any relations with another. But however anyone see's it, you can't forget the legal age to be considered an adult is 18. If a female or male that age did choose to hang around someone older and it was mutual. Then that's really their choice.
But some may only seek strictly advice because they understand they may have some good pointers in helping them understand the other sex, from their life experience etc. Another reason this could be, is maybe they don't feel comfortable asking their dad some questions, or in some cases, maybe their dad isn't around.
This doesn't just apply to a younger female, but also male, just roles reversed.

    @TashcomerTexas
Hind sight as they say is 20 20.. No one ever knows what they would or wouldn't have done "for sure" in any given situation.. We only can speculate, until we're faced with whatever, only then do we know..

Should he have taken her keys.. My opinion, no matter someones age.. I think it is responsible if you see that someone has been drinking too much, you have a duty to take some type of action to stop them from driving (or at least give it a solid try), because they no longer are thinking clearly or are able to make good decisions.. Everyone knows that you can take keys, call a cab or a friend/family... Or whatever to ensure a drunk isn't driving because that is unacceptable, because then not only are they putting themselves at risk, but who knows who else. Too many people die and or hurt and families torn to pieces because of it. Bottom line, there's really no excuse for someone to drive drunk, it's that simple.

But I really hate this tragedy for the friends and family of the beautiful young woman. And I hope that there wasn't any foul play..

Honestly I think, these days.. 50/50 on people who would take keys or who would be totally fine with someone drinking and driving.

Exactly, there's always that too. So many variables in any given situation. No one ever knows for sure how something may have went if something was done different.

Yeah, hopefully the guy isn't the culprit. And it was a freak accident. It would be a bad situation to be in the shoes of someone under the spotlight and scrutiny if innocent, I'm sure that'd feel horrible on top of knowing what happened to another.

But such a tragedy no matter what.

Sure the legal age of consent is 18 (in most states), but that's not the legal drinking age... The fact that he "should" have taken her keys is grey; the fact that he contributed to the alcohol consumption of a minor (under 21) is a just that... a fact. He admitted he gave her wine in the interview. He contributed to her level of drunkenness, and if she was so intoxicated that she couldn't/didn't think to put her truck in 4wd, and then stumbled into a lake a drown, she must have been very intoxicated. Even if this creep didn't actually murder her, he should be held accountable for at least that...

My only gripe is that they met only once. She's saying she has to go to work or whatever and she's of adult age, just doesn't make sense for some stranger almost twice her age inside of his own home to take something that is of her possession. He should've called a cab, uber, whatever you want to call it. I would be worried about her filing some kind of report for assault, any accusation of sexual harassment/battery of the sort.

    I don't know...very odd situation. I'm out.

Yeah, when I referred to the age it wasn't having to do with the drinking, I was just making another point, also wasn't taking up for the guy (just to reiterate).. But you're right with what you say.

    Yes odd unfortunate situation.

Like you I'm also out.. I don't want to say anything else and possibly be taken the wrong way. This is a horrible tragedy, I hate it for everyone. Hope the best for the family and friends moving forward as best they can.

Hope I didn't offend, was more trying to add to what you had said, not debate it.

Like you all: It is most unfortunate, and I hope they (law enforcement/detectives/officials) find the answers the family deserves. I also hope justice, whatever that may look like, is served.

No you didn't offend at all, I understood what you meant and agree. I just wanted to make clear to everyone, in no way was I trying to defend the guy, or act as if I knew the situation etc etc.. I Definitely don't wanna be taken the wrong way in this that's for sure.
