You can use whatever really. The idea is to make the pole bigger so it's right when you out the knob on. I used a short piece of electrical tape and wedged the knobs on. Sloppy movement is gone.

I tried doing the fancy way of transfering the metal inserts and that didn't work. On my second attempt I just put some electrical tape over the posts and it worked perfectly, took a whole 3 minutes!

FYI - if anybody is interested in doing this and doesn't want to wait for 3 or 4 weeks to have the knobs delivered I have an unused set I'll send you for $10. I bought 2 just in case I screwed something up and now have an unopened box of 3 knobs.

Anyone looking to move just one knob? I'd like one for the 4x4 switch.

I used a square of the bag that the knows came in. Folded it in half and held it on the post as I pushed the knob on. Fits nice and tight

Put mine on yesterday. Very small slack in the far left knob but the middle and right knob don't have any slack. I still want to paint the chrome rings black somehow. I tried taping everything off and plasti-dipping the rings but it ended up looking like crap so i pulled off the dip and left them chrome.

As a matter of fact i did last night. However, it is more shiny than matte black and i remember why. It was my first paint guinea pig and i tried using a sharpie on the exterior clear ring. Didn't like the result so i whipped out some nail polish remover and it turned the surface shiny.

Yours if you still want it. PM me your address

Thank you for the offer, but it would no longer match mine. I do appreciate the offer though, and thanks!
