i saw a YouTube video from a guy who replaced the 4 velcro attachments for holding the two halves of a Mt. Shasta together with clips. i can't find the video but i just bought parts for the mod. anyone else try this?

i hate how the velcro holds is so crappy. seems like these buckles will keep the tent squashed in there with my sleeping bag and blanket.

What do you guts use to patch your tent covers? I rubbed a spot through the PVC material sliding my canoe up and down it.

    try Tear Aid

    https://www.tear-aid.com/

I've used it on canvas boat tops, rain jackets and other uses. Type B is for vinyl and PVC. you can find it in-town at places that sell and service white water rafting equipment. Good luck.

looking at a CVT tent...Im stuck deciding between a Mt Bachelor or a Mt Shasta. It'll be just me and my gf...she's small (4'10") and I'm 5'8". is the Mt Shasta worth the $400 more for the extra 6-8 inches width wise?

I can't speak to the size width wise, (you'll probably be fine), but be sure to look at the height too. I was looking at the Tepui Ayer vs. Kukenam before I noticed I wouldn't be able to sit up in the Ayer.

I'm 5'11 163. The spouse is 5'3 115. We need the extra width. Maybe you don't. you are "tweeners." I say go up in size.

    I'd pay $400 to have 8 inches.

Yeah. $400 for 8 inches. That's a deal. On the verge of "too much," but a little extra is usually appreciated.

My gf and I have the Cayley. It's an old CVT model. It's 50" wide and we fit fine. I'm 6'3" and she is 5'8". Neither of us are fat though. That is where you'll struggle with width. Idk if you are fat.

Does anyone else have a hard time getting the floor to zip into the annex room on your CVT tent? I feel like its almost impossible on mine. It will only go so far and then it stops. I have a friend that has the same issue as well just wondering if yall experienced the same thing

    Not enough...
Eh, seems a little expensive for for it provides. Plus it takes forever to charge. I just got back from 3 day camping trip. Had a bunch of lights and phones plugged in, people charging cameras, blowing up mattresses and even ran an air compressor to inflate a tire on this dudes trailer. All off my regular battery. After 3 days the truck started with 0 issues. On my previous trip I had a 1100 watt inverter hooked up in addition to a the built in 400 watt one to run DJ equipment and powered speakers.
