Mine is an Off Road so maybe it is Model Specific? Also, think I read something in the Brochure saying the Automatics have it.

Sounds like it, I have a feeling it has something to do with the style of Brake Booster.

I have a 2016 Sport with a Manual Transmission - and YES it has a hill holder. Keeps you from rolling backward after a stop. Very handy. I have no idea about trucks with automatics ...Would never buy one. - Clay

Yeah the Brochures can be misleading, it is definitely not on my Truck, I am almost positive it is not on the Pro either since it shares the same Brake Booster.

If you take a look at the text in the image, at least they have it right on the site, 1 for 2 is about what I expect from them these days :)

It shows a picture of the truck that doesn't have the feature being described.

    Classic.

Wish my OR had this. SF traffic and what not.

The OR may not have this feature due to the locking rear diff? Many moons ago cars had this - twas called a 'hill holder'

My guess is @shakerhood is right about the brake booster. Why that doesn't affect the automatic, I'm not smart enough to understand.

Rolling backwards could be useful when off road. Maybe that's why it isn't in the "Off Road" model. Or is it available on the automatic off roads?
I dunno. Just taking guesses here.

Yupppp, I've got the same setup. I have to depress my clutch to the floor and kindof roll my foot to the left side in order to start.... Or use the clutch start cancel button. Considered notching the floormat, but i've gotten so used to it it's a non factor anymore.

Not much yet, but do have Flowmaster exhaust, with Rockford Fosgate P600.1Bd 600 RMS Mono amp for my 12" P3 with custom box and a Punch P400-4 Four Channel amp for my mids and highs running 100 watts per channel and have two speakers on each channel, not to mention 6 more hooked to the 4 channels from the headunit as well....Hopefully soon will be a body lift with new tires, and eventually the actual suspension...
Hey everybody, so I can bet there's a thread somewhere on here but I'm just going to ask here...Does anyone else have their 2nd Gen Taco make a squeaky like sound at idle? It's always kind of done it, but has gotten considerably worse lately, and after I upgraded my amplifiers and wiring under the hood to 0 gauge. Now it's super loud squeak at idle and sometimes gets louder when revved, but goes away when I depress the clutch, which I just noticed. And once it's warmed up, it usually doesn't happen... I've always had a squeaky clutch, but it seems to be more the inside, like, the actual pedal. I got under their today and noticed some wetness around the center of the truck kind of where it goes up into the middle like where center console would be....sorry i don't know components of vehicles too much (drive shaft, differential, crank, bearing? sorry. lol) . I'll try and post some pics manana, just wanted to see....

why doesn't the clutch start cancel button come on all Tacos, you think? When I first drove my buddy's 03 back in the day, he had that on there and I thought it was f'n awesome, and part of the reason I wanted a manual Tacoma, and when I finally got one, I come to realize I didn't have one!! I was disappointed but wasn't taking it back...
