Hey guys been out of the Tacoma game for awhile and have had my mid travel 4Runner that recently went to my wife..

So about a month ago now I picked up a new to me first gen tacoma basically stock.

I needed a ship promo truck for fun and attention.

The plan was 35s, mid travel, chevy 63s as low and as simple as possible. I enjoy rock crawling and also enjoy bombing dirt roads.... more then anything I enjoy making it over things people think I can't (jeeples)

So here it is day one IMG_0987.jpg

Flashy wheels small tires cheap rancho quick lift saggy leafs

    PERFECT

So what better thing to do with my new Tacoma? The next day we went wheeling! I wanted to see what she could do and what I was working with and I was very impressed.

Then I got cocky and figured I would try to show off like always and dented my new bed... here came my goal in a month I was having a shop meet and greet trip and my goal was to make this obstical

    IMG_1047.jpg
Didn't work out but I had myself a goal. In a month we would be back for a shop meet and greet run and I wanted to make it up this!!!

I got home and got started first was the bumper wanted it simple and needed a winch. Also wanted it to be bolt on (8 factory bolt locations)

    IMG_1097.jpg

Next Saturday owner then I thought I ended up with my 35s the wife wanted the 4rinner lower so she could get the little one in without having to lift her as my much.... go figure they didn't fit and I could not drive out of the shop.

    IMG_1113.jpg

So I did what reasonable owner would do I started cutting holes in my new truck

    IMG_1124.jpg
Pulled out the struts dropped in on to the bump stops started turning and cutting ended up removing everything back to the cab mount
    IMG_1144.jpg

Welded up time to get the interior back in place

    IMG_1155.jpg

    Good as new!

Next was sliders so back to the bender

    IMG_1172.jpg

    And then to test them
    IMG_1193.jpg
Then it was time for the locker... long story but trying to order Toyota lockers is such a pita sometimes.

I have a 8.4 they sent me the regular 8" locker I didn't check and ended up just welding the rear... when I regear I will put a arb in it

    IMG_1202.jpg

Next up was the rear bumper it kept hanging up on everything but I need a full bed so no bob I went as low profile as possible while still having a hitch and a small step

    IMG_1268.jpg

It was getting close to go time!! Still had a lot to do... at this point I knew I would not get my 63s in

    IMG_1348.jpg
I had to run and pick up some icon parts for a custemer so I went ahead and got my mid travel setup while I was getting everything else
    IMG_1368.jpg

Time to get my stuff ready to go in IMG_1369.jpg

Next up was the install not bad at all other then I left my ball joint puller at my stepdads shop.... so I had fun with a hammer

    IMG_1378.jpg
At this point it was Friday night and I had a custemer coming over so we could fit his cage for him... I knew I would not get my 63s in or skidplates done at this point And also no sleep for the big day

    IMG_1391.jpg
Loaded up and ready to go!!

    IMG_1428.jpg

Group ended up being smaller the. I would have liked one was out with a blown diff and a few bailed because of the risk of bad weather but we still had a blast

    IMG_1430.jpg

I made it up that damn crevice

    C92A120F-3941-4D07-82F9-D52518099856.jpg
And a battle scar to always remind me of my first month building this thing up!!

Overall she is at a really good spot

    IMG_1048.jpg 40E916DE-BE9D-421C-91B7-9FEAFCDE23A4.jpg

63s are ready to go in should help a ton

Also debating on what the plan is with skid plates... I don't have a press brake and would have to whiskey bend them if I make them... or I could support another company who already makes them advertise for them and push there product through my shop....

Either way I need them I hit the transmission pan and got a small seep of fluid and a stripped out bolt (think they was already stripped and hitting it made it start leaking)

And I destroyed the factory skids

Anyways that's it for now but I love pictures and talking about my truck so plenty of updates to come before next months shop trip!!

1995 toyota tacoma bought it 4 years ago it's my work truck so it's a little beat up
I haven't done much had a 2 in adjustable lift when I got it. Got some 32 bfg all terrain almost used up wanted some bigger tires up don't know it it'll rub if I go up to a 33. Found a lumber rack that fits with my campershell on for 200 last year saved my truck... About three months ago while craiglist surfing I came across a cabover camper with slight water damage. In about a month I'm driving down the baja with the cabover getting everything ready. Have some firestone air helper bags I need to install Once in mexico and back where all my tools are I want to fabricate a front bumper, hate all the chrome everywhere all over the tacomas but also not a fan of the plate bumpers thinking more of tube bumpers i have some in mind but need more ideas. Some rocksliders that stick out a little extra to help me keep sand out of the car Also down I'm baja have a 88yota that was on its third bed but finally decided to build it make it fun for the beach surfboard and kayak racks
Anymore pictures of that front bumper?
