20170521_115911.jpg I was tired of paying $54 a month for a bunch of worthless tv channels. My dish contract finally expired and I cancelled the service.

As one last slap in the wallet, I have to pay the shipping for the receivers and remotes back to dish network.

Fortunately I live in an area with good over the air tv reception. Bought a decent outdoor digital antenna. Climbed up to the dish on the roof and removed it, leaving the mast attached to the roof. Screwed the connector that was used for the satellite into my antenna. Attached antenna to mast using provided hardware.

Success! 22 free HD channels! I seriously could not be happier right now.

Any advice for cheap cable? All I will need is fox sports and nbc sports to watch racing? Was the $54 basic with those channels or what? Im thinking of getting cable at my house and have never had it as my own bill before.

I ditched cable years ago. Was paying over $100 for HD stations with DVR.

Now I just use Amazon, Netflix and Hulu.

They should send you prepaid labels and boxes to send that stuff back in

The $54 did not include those channels. It was pretty basic with a BUNCH of garbage channels. I would recommend avoiding the satellite providers.

Know anything that is just those channels? I've heard Comcast has them in their basic package?

Check out sling tv. There's a couple packages with different channels, and you can combine packages if you want. There's a lot of main channels on there.

PlayStation Vue has those channels in the basic $30 package. That's what I use now instead of cable and it's great.

This started many years ago, we ditchrd cable and then i discovered walking dead on netflix and after that ran out i needed a way to get my fix. I did all kinds of reasearch for free tv and was disappointed in every search. Then I talked to a few people. I use kodi (commonly know as fire stick) and popcorn time. I dont use a firestick, i use it on my laptop, tabletvand phone. All free btw in the app stores or for for download on the laptop. Kodi has all the repositories for sports, movies etc... just have to install kodi and the figure out which repository you need for your sports channels. Kodi = if it is streaming it's on there. It's a wonderful thing. I have a simple indoor antenna for local news and prime time tv, but if I miss it I just go to Kodi or popcorn time to catch up. Look it up. This is popcorn time
    https://popcorntime-online.tv
It's the easiest to deal with. Kodi needs updating all the time and has some buffering issues. Or may that's just my shit network throttling my speed.

Is it legit? I seen they have a good price, and is it through internet? Also does it plug into the TV?

It doesn't work with an Xbox. You can stream with a few devices other than a PS4 though.

I haven't really used Kodi since it was called XBMC. There's an add-on for it to watch almost anything for free. I think it's called Exodus.
