Thanks - love both of them. May be getting a new Bronson soon to replace this one.

Tailgate pad owners....do you wash the pad ever? If so, do you leave it on when you wash the Taco or take off?

Curious what you guys think/recommend here.

I upgraded to a remedy 9 recently from an Xcal 8, and honestly hate riding the remedy around other than the trails. I live in Austin, so my dog and I bar hop a lot on the bike. Just lock it up, have beers, keep on cruising. The Xcal could do it all, but I didn't buy the remedy for bar hopping. Now, I have my road bike that is currently for sale because I really don't road ride anymore.

Once it's sold, what direction do I go? Considering a Stache 5 or stache 7, as well as another xcal just for shit like this. Or potentially a cross bike, like a cross rip 2, that would give me an option to still road ride if I want, while still being a bike to bar hop on and do whatever.

I over complicate everything, but at the end of the day I don't road ride anymore, and want max 2 bikes to fit all my needs.

What about a cheap single speed for bar hopping? You could get one with drop bars and still be able to road ride.

I had a 2014 Stache 7 and I loved it! It was a solid aluminum trail hardtail. Mine had a Revelation fork and Command dropper post though...

I'm kinda a clean freak when it comes to my truck. I took off the pad whenever I washed the truck and cleaned the outside of the cover with a wash mitt and vacuumed the cloth "inside"- this was pretty much my routine to keep my tailgate paint clean.

I like the cheap single speed option. I had a gary fisher triton and regret selling it. Was a great bike. I looked at a state 5 which is a 1x and it looks like a beast. first things first though, gotta get rid of the Cronus Pro. If any of you are looking for a 54cm all carbon, ultegra groupset, sub 18 pound road bike let me know. Got one thats been babied for a few years.

my brother in law takes his off once a month to wash his truck and spray down the pad. i just got mine and plan on taking it off a few times a month to clean it. i don't want dirt getting up under there and scratching my clear coat.

Sweet whips! Just picked up a TR Scout, I'm toying with the idea of flat pedals. I've been on clipless and hardtails for 25 years.

Get good quality platforms and 5.10 shoes (impacts or freeriders) and they rock. I will ride clipped in on the road bike, but platforms and decent flat shoes in the dirt FTW.
