I'm taking a 4-5 week road trip this summer and I'll be going through Arizona. If anyone can give me some tips and pointers about what I definitely need to do or see I'd appreciate it. I started a dedicated thread for the entire trip here:

Summer? I recommend driving straight through AZ.

I agree. Goto Colorado instead should be a tad bit cooler. You can actually get out of your rig.

That's a rough idea of the route so far. We'll have two coolers with food and water, plus two 5-gallon water containers. I'm not too concerned about the heat, we've already started having our 90 degree 60% humidity days here.

Looks like you'll be stopping in Northern AZ so it won't be so bad.

The AZ notes have been taken care of, it looks like.

The drive up the 101 through Oregon has some killer views, especially along the sea cliffs between Florence and Yachats. Looks like you're taking the route that has you going through the Red Woods. So amazing. I've done that drive a couple times (get on the 1 south of SF and take it over Golden Gate). If you stop in Newport (OR), I highly recommend going to Nye Beach and grab some clam chowder at the Chowder Bowl and a Hamms tallboy next door at the Sand Bar.

Envious of the trip. When does it kick off?

You can spit in Oregon and not hit a good brewery...

    Rogue Ales is in Newport.

But yeah, Gonnies never say die!
