Ok so can I get some feedback from any of you that have the 3rd Gen 2.7 mated to the new auto trans,

Long story short the wife and I are considering trading into an Access Cab with the new auto and the good ole 2.7.

I really don't need the V6 in a DC and the SR5 Access Cab is well priced.

I had an auto in my 2014 RC 4x4 with the old four speed it hunted bad here in the mountains of WNC.
Even with cruise it held speed but wow would it spin up the revs locked in third gear.

I'm really hoping the new 6-speed auto it what the 2.7 really needed all along.

Dealer doesn't have one yet or I would have test drive one today.

I have a cab basket that I repurposed for mounting on bed bars but I'd like to move it to the roof of my cab. Has anyone found any good solid nodrill roof bars I could mount it with?

Sportrack is the cheaper price I know. Might be good enough to what you want to do

Edit: forget it, 2005+ Tacomas are not include in the chart... Unless you want to "make it fit"

Here is mine. 3rd gen OR shocks. Tsb leafs. Still debating on tires. Thinking about putting T4R 17" wheels on, don't know if I'll go 245/75 or 265/70. Want to keep handling as close to stock as possible.

All this time I didn't realize you had a 2.7 cool, how does it handle all the weight with the bed rack rtt and gear?

    4xinnovations makes these

:turtleride: any sort of road with a posted grade percentage I have to shift into low and top out at 40... can't shift into 2nd or I just start losing speed. Needs gears and lockers bad. I might end up just doing the gears until I can afford the lockers though :/
