Hey Guys, I walked past a booth at the Makers Faire on Saturday and there was a small company with devices that helped geeks hack their cars. The device was $55, but you have to know how to code. I showed him the Hypertech ($230) unit on my phone and he said his device could do that... but you have to write code.

I asked if he could offer it with the software for around $75. He said, "No problem". He's willing to develop the software if there is some interest from others.

LMK if you're interested. And if anyone knows how to code or is familiar with devices like this, please let me know. I'd rather turn this project over to someone who can talk shop with the dude.

pics of unit? As long as it's reliable, easy to use, not gigantic, and doesn't look like some resistors on a breadboard I'm interested.

By "speedometer correction device" do you mean for correcting after installing larger tires? If so, you can just work out the math instead and save yourself the $$$. If not, and your talking about something else, please ignore the following.

Example, if you go from a 31in to 33in tire, that's about a 6% increase (33-31)/31 = .06, so if you were going 100mph on a 31, and then switched to a 33, when your speedometer hits 100mph you're actually going 106mph. Simply add 6% to whatever your speed is, so 50mph would now be 53mph.

say you are under 6% and mph reads 106 & you are only going 100mph, you are adding mi to your vehicle at a faster rate. can you really sleep at night knowing this?

Where it really play in is the guys who are regeared and have larger tires so the speed is all fucked up. @dakotasyota speedo was adding a shit ton of miles before he used the hypertech
