Do the 4 cylinder reg cab 4x4 5 speed got enough power to haul a FWC? I been looking at these campers for years and seems like they're only on 6 cyl.

Is it over 3,500lbs? If so, then it's too big for the 4cyl. Also, remember you'll need to add a brake controller if you're pulling more than 1,500lbs.

Do it !!! Just regear. My truck weighs in at 5400lbs with the rtt and awning on before I add the rest of my gear. Still get 20 mpg highway :turtleride:

Just remember to replace almost every piece of suspension on the truck then it can handle it long term

Airbags limit travel unless you've got a disconnect system. Go ome Dakar or 63s simple and they can take the load

Regear and replace suspension? Sounds like this four wheel camper involves a bit of mods.

Sorry for the noob questions but my truck is basically stock as far as suspension. Just aftermarket wheels and tires.

Why do you suggest the regear?
Will I need to upgrade tires for a heavier load?

Most Americans find once they do stuff and one size bigger tires or load on they are in need of regear. The oem suspension won't handle the load long term you'll snap those shit yota leafs in half ( I broke two sets)

If you run the firestone air bags with the daystar cradles it does not limit the suspension one bit

Adding airbags or an extra leaf or two will simply compensate for the huge sag/bro lean you will encounter with a 900lbs bed camper. You don't need them, but your rig will look sweet and you wont be riding on the bump stops!

I had a 2012 Eagle in my '10 DCLB w/TSB rear springs. I upgraded to Load Range E tires and air bags before taking delivery of the FWC. I can't imagine trying to run that weight on stock springs alone.

I was happy with Base 2wd 2.7L AC and Timbrens. Not offroad and State type of parks

I loved my 4 cylinder and four wheel camper. Had it for several years, and worked great. I would recommend regearing and either airbags or custom leaf springs.
