Will a Softtoper from an 09 Taco fit my 17?

    I have a line on a nice, used, Softopper I am interested in buying but will it fit? He had it on his 09 Taco.

    I have heard that as long as you're going from long bed to long bed, or short bed to short bed, you should be fine.

    Like, so many.
    Are these easy to remove? I'd like one for camping maybe, but I wouldn't necessarily want it on all the time.

    It'll fit but will sit higher than the cab line and I believe the tailgate flap (for lack of better words) is shaped differently. It'll work but it won't be perfect.

    If you leave the rails on, removal takes about 2 to 5 minutes.

    Awesome. That's good to know. I've only seen videos of them being folded down, not removed.

    Essentially all that's left after folding is removing two ring locks that keep the topper frame locked onto the pins on the rail (think like the rings on a key chain).

    I have had both a 2nd & 3rd gen and the only thing I notice is the height of the mounting tracks are lower in the third gen.. and of course no mounting tracks in the front bed of 3rd.
