front axle seal leak where cv meets diff

    had friend replace front cv axles and now dripping from pass side where top cv meets diff axle. I want to do this myself so is there a video or something to help me out there please. Thanks Bjack

    That happened to me once because the dust shield that goes between the diff and the CV shaft was stuck on the diff side. When I put the new CV in, there was a dust shield on there too, so it was doubled-up. Ended up having to replace the diff seal.

    Billys 5100/Eibach and Wheelers Progressive 1.5 AAL with overload in
    Its pretty easy to do. I believe its just removing the wheel. then the dust cover on the axle nut. the four 14mm lower ball joint bolts. then you can pull the axle from the hub and diff. then pull the seal. hardest part is knowing how far to put the seal in because there is no stopper.

    edit. Prob will need to drain the diff fluid or else it will get messy.

    Pay close attention to just how far the existing seal is located back in the housing, put the new one pretty much in the same place (depth). I took a big sturdy screwdriver & pryed the old out. I still had the drip after installing SKF seals, would not use them again. Guess I'll go with OEM.

    hey, I'm about to do the same procedure but I'm not sure about the part number... The dealer told me it was PN 93011-47027 but I looked on http://toyotapartsestore.com/ and it says that it is a tundra part...
    Did you do it ?
