Repair the peeling hood in attachment myself or professionally?

  1. Put in some elbow grease and do it yourself!

Hey guys, I've been lurking here a bit but figured it was time to join up.

I live in Whistler, BC and purchased my 06' TRD 4x4 Tacoma (crew cab) late last year. I've been loving it, but lately I've been thinking of doing some work and/or mods to it. There have been a few things since I purchased it that needs to be fixed or that I would like to upgrade.

I'll search the forums before making a post about it, but currently I'm thinking of sanding/clear coating/repainting the hood with a friend. He has a spray gun and just painted his Ford. As you can see in the attachment it needs a bit of love (bought it like this). The hood is the only section on the truck that is peeling.

As for "upgrades" I'm thinking a sound system, bush bar, small lift, fender flares, either purchase a cover bed or repaint canopy, and installing a hood vent.

    As for fixes:
    1) TPMS wont stop blinking. Tried resetting many times, checked all tires (including spare), no luck.
    2) Accessory meter hasn't worked since I got it. Actually just found out it's supposed to show something. Hopefully I can take a look at that soon.
    3) Recently have been having a loud click sound when turning hard at low speeds. I think something in the front is catching on the bush guard but I need to get that looked at ASAP.

Anyways that's about it, hopefully I'll see you all around the forums and maybe one day I can help you too!
