    Eagerly awaiting :)

I find it interesting (again, based on my limited knowledge of wiring) that this mod does not work like the previous gen tacomas.

I could have done something wrong in the process, or there are other things happening with the factory wiring... I did find this interesting thread: http://tundrageeks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9760

curious if it would be similar to the tacoma.

In the mean time, I will check out some of your mods. Do you have a build page?

I would love to do this MOD as well....I did that easy Mod on my 2006, but the 2016 is a lot harder....

Is there any way we can "encourage" you @mesojdm ?? Maybe us guys that want this Mod can get together and get you something for your truck, to cover your time and effort....

What do you other guys think?? I'm willing to chip in for his effort.... You...??:confused:

I would definitely pitch in something. I think its so stupid Toyota made it this hard this time around. My guess it has something to do with the fog light "switch" being part of the blinker control thingy... lol and not a separate switch like b4?

Kind of pisses me off. I'll bet it has something to do with the integrated switch on the turn signal

Bought the Tuffy center console lock box. Pretty easy install, seems well built. Added the combination lock to have less keys and now have an easy place to lock important items.

that's kind of cool! what keeps someone from taking the whole lock box and breaking into it at a later point in time?

What keeps someone from stealing your car and breaking into it later? Reasonable attempt at security. You can't stop a motivated bad guy from trying to get it. This thing is bolted to the console mounts. Not much else you can do.

Well I got rid of my 17' new Tacoma due to total dis-satisfaction with the gutless motor and quirky tranny and traded up to a
15' Tundra TRD Off Road w/ 5.7 V8. I took it the ass on this one but I guess I'll chalk it up as a "ya live and learn" life experience.
At least I'm in a truck now that I truly love. Anyway, I bought an air intake mod from G-TEK Fabs on this site for my Tacoma that
never got installed. Brand new still in the box w/instructions. If anyone is interested in it send me a pm.

Makes it way harder for them to get to it though. If you keep a gun in the console this is especially important! Now the criminal doesn't also have access to a gun off the bat.

rear cup holder, (on back of console) is perfect for storing a pair of binoculars.

Two small d-rings screwed to the underside of the factory tonneau, allows the use of some bungee cords or ratchet straps to better hold down the somewhat floppy cover to tailgate seam. Itn keeps the cover from bouncing up and down over RR tracks, also makes it a little harder for thieves to pop open if the tailgate is locked.

Dumb question but where do you guys keep your change? My 2nd gen had the perfect spot to the right of the steering wheel.

The 3rd Gen has no spot really. I usually just keep it in a empty breath mint container or it lays loose in the tray I got from Amazon for the center console.

I have it in the square compartment infront of the cup holder infront of the center consol but since it's not fully closed it keeps falling into the cup holder. Gotta make something to close the square fully

'tis a fact. Even if valuables are locked away, they can still be accessed with more time, but how often do you see video footage of someone "breaking into" a vehicle for 20 minutes? They're moving on to easier pickings.
Everyone is probably a responsible gun owner - you have a responsibility to secure it too.

Welcome to TW Eric! I didn't do the console lockbox, because I like the convenience of it, but I do have the one that replaces the bed storage compartment. Love it!

Thank you! Glad the bed box is working well for you! I'll have to talk you into the console insert eventually, just because it's sooo handy to have it right by your side...I'm all about moving as little as possible. :D
