Yeah, I think I'm gonna say that confirms that it's a blown HG. 95 Civic with 320k on the clock.

Today I worked on not working.....Sorta obsessed with work most of the time. Since I'm off AND my wife is off this week, we've been hanging out, doing just the bare minimum. and having fun.

Sometimes you just have to make time to enjoy the little things in life.

That's what yesterday was for me. I watched WWI documentaries and Blue Bloods all day.

My dad was Army Air Corps in WW II. He was a radio operator on a C 47 dropping paratroopers on D Day. He wouldn't talk a lot, but I did manage to get him to open up a few times. When I was very young, there were still a few WW I vets alive. I managed to talk with one that lived next door to us then. I could listen all day and all night.

My Grandpaw was with the Navy in WWII and my Grandpop was with the Army in Vietnam. Grandpop got wounded, shot in the back. Bullet was lodged next to his spine and they wouldn't remove it for fear of damaging something. Neither of them would talk about their time in the service. But a very close friend of mine, whom I referred to as Papou Steve (Greek for grandpa, because he was Greek) served with the Army, and he loved telling his war stories. I stopped to help him now his yard one day when I was a teenager because I saw he was struggling. Tried to do it for free, but he insisted on paying me, and after that, I ended up mowing his yard once a week. We became such good friends that we would just sit on the porch for hours and just talk. Since my grandparents had all passed away, I asked if I could call him my grandpa. He was delighted. Even started introducing me as his grandson to others. He was a hell of a guy.
Oftentimes he would repeat the stories, but I didn't mind. They were always thrilling to hear, and I also didn't mind letting him relive his glory one more time. He earned it. Papou Steve passed away about three years ago. I went to the viewing and funeral, and somehow even family members that had never met me knew who I was. That touched my heart, because apparently he always spoke of me.
He apparently wrote me into his will, and I ended up with all of his tools and his lawn mower. I still use his tools to this day, and will never get rid of em. I miss Papou, he was a hell of a guy.

Apparently we don't just work on cars. Now we work on trailers. We are going to build a box on the front of this trailer to hold two little Honda 2000 generators and a propane tank. The owner gave herself a hernia picking up the generators every day, so we are doing this so she doesn't have to move them.

PicsArt_02-11-10.15.49.jpg Many people have asked, so I'll let y'all in on the secret to hillbilly headlight restoration. First, you wetsand em with 3000 grit until they are smooth. Wipe em dry and hit em with air to get all of the water off and out of the tape. Then they will not be yellow, but still foggy. Then you hit em with a buffer in short bursts with compound, the bottle with a red hood on the front. The Meguiars helps to seal the plastic back up. Many methods work, but the Meguiars seals em, unlike methods such as using Off bug spray and toothpaste.

Here's a pic dump on the trailer box. We still have to still a few drain holes and paint it, but it's almost done. It even has a hood shock from a totalled 35th anniversary Camaro. The Camaro belonged to a buddy of ours. He was the 4th vehicle in a 5 car pileup. He hit the brakes after seeing the first three wreck, but the box truck behind him did not stop, sending him into the truck in front of him.20170125_095805.jpg 20170201_173034.jpg 20170201_212611.jpg 20170202_105449.jpg 20170207_205629.jpg 20170207_213554.jpg

The Camaro has the LS1 corvette engine, paired to a 700R4 4 speed trans. We bought the car off him for the engine and trans.

Got to do an awesome thing today. Some of y'all might remember me and some of my good friends driving a couple hours out to pick up a 1960 Thunderbird. Well today we got it running for the first time in many years. It's got the 352. Drove it around the neighborhood. It shifts into all gears, the generator light came on almost immediately. But we drove it around for a little bit anyways. It died on our return trip at the foot of the driveway. Started it back up with a jump to get it rest of the way.
    Awesome!!

The 60 Thunderbird we got running last week. It has the 352. Even has power windows!
