Any issues with the hardware, mainly the bolts snapping. Seems to have been a concern with some users here. I purchased the Westin HDX which look very similar. Haven't installed or taken pics yet.

I just received the ICI step and I was looking on my chassis and I don't see the threaded nuts we are supposed to use. Did you come across the same thing, did you use the existing holes and use the nuts provided with the steps?? The instructions mentioned to use the threaded holes, but looking thoroughly I didn't find any threaded nuts anywhere.

When I installed mine ('16 DCSB) I had to remove some rubber plugs to uncover the threaded holes for the bolts. If you put the steps under your truck and look up from the steps mounting brackets they'll probably be more obvious.

Got mine for sale BTW if anyone reading is interested :hattip:

Okay, sounds logical. Ill have to look a little closer. I saw the rubber plugs, well it looked like it. Through the center of the chassis I didn't see any threaded holes. I hope with the 2017 tacoma's its different from the 2016's.

Mike, did you come across any holes on your chassis that doesn't have the threaded nuts already existing????

Just wanted protection along the full length of the truck versus just steps. The sliders are much easier to get up on to access my roof rack and open my tent, too.

@guahan671 ill try and snap some pictures of what I'm talking about when I'm off work in 30-45 min if it helps!

Alright I got 2 out of the 3 mounting spots, the first was too hard to get a decent pic of. These are both taken from driver side facing up, the bottom of the pics is towards the exterior of the truck (you can see in pic 2 the top of my head-was using the rear facing camera to take the pic upwards). If you get under there on your back and look up it should be real clear if it's like mine was

First pic is mounting spot #2/3, around where the drivers side doors meet up
    IMG_3678.jpg
Second pic is maybe 12-16" up from the rear wheel well

Okay now it makes more sense. The pictures really explained more of where to look for the threaded holes. I was looking at it from the side. when I get home from work Ill look upwards. LOL Thanks Dan.

Haha no worries man! I did the same thing at first too, like "these are supposed to bolt right on!?" Had to rig/match everything up then it made more sense. Good luck! If you need anything else just ask, as said above it shouldn't take more than 30 min or so once you get set!

One more quick question, did you end up using the hardware that came with the steps or did you go and get better ones?? I have read the hardware doesn't hold up too well and torqueing will snap some of the bolts.

I used what came with the steps, they felt fine for the time they were on my truck and are all still in good shape after I removed em
