    Hi There,

I wonder if anyone out in the Tacoma community has the same problem. In my 2012 Tacoma TRD Offroad, the 3 lowest fan speeds on the climate controls don't work. No fan at the 3 lowest speed settings but I still have the fan on "HI". Is there anyone experiencing the same problem? It was an intermittent fault for a day or two but now, nothing. Could it be a flap in the air flow box not opening/closing properly? Or just a blown component? I priced the climate control cluster unit at my local dealership. $1300.00 !!! And here I thought the last "Highway robber" was Robin Hood. Apparently Jim Pattison took over the job. I hope there is a simple solution.

    Thanks

    Waldo

X2 on the blower resistor, that's how they behave usually when they go bad.

    Thank you very much gents.

That will help me a lot. I like it when a plan comes together and the problem is solved.

Wiggle the connector around and see if it comes back on. I've had to re-pin the connector twice, there's " how to's" to the forum.

    Hey Pilot Mike,

Thanks for the info. I did just that. I unplugged it and cleaned it with electrical cleaning spray. Badda Bing ! It works again like a new one. Thank you very much. That was a money saver!

Glad I could help. I think it's the white wire pin on mine that gets loose. I bought spare pins and connectors for dirt cheap so whenever it starts acting up, I just put a new pin on.

I am wondering if this is caused by some sort of environmental problem, because mine went out yesterday! Thank you all for the advice! Helping me stay cool in Idaho!

Blower motors draw a lot of current, current equals heat.. Look closely for melted connections.. replacing a resistor every now and then is normal. If you're going thru resistors then the blower motor is partially shorted and drawing too much current (remember, decreased resistance with the same voltage potential equals more amp flow). You'd think it would blow a fuse if it was shorted but not always..
