seal between fender flare and body

    This is correct. I replaced all of my rubber "seals" with factory replacements. They come with 3m moulding tape already on them, but you have to trim them to size. The hardest part is removing the old nasty rubber. There are only screws holding the flare on from below.

    The 01-04 flares have screws on the bottom as well as clips.

    WOW!!! you are a life saver, thanks for the info. Since this is a new install removing the old nasty rubber wont be a problem. Do you happen to know the Toyota OEM number of the 3M tape?? I buying some used Toyota OEM flares but they don't have the 3M tape on them anymore.

    Here is what happened, I bought a set of black Toyota fender flares(plastic) on Craig's list that fit on my 2000 SR5 just fine. You were right the old tape was hard to get off and they connect under the wheel well edge without clips. I bought new flare pads and additional 10mm bolts/screws from Toyota. Here is a picture of my Tacoma SR5 w/fender flares, thanks to all who helped!
