I've been out in the shop reworking a factory bolt. Squaring, head space to .043 and doing a radius for running subsonic/target loads. It's crazy how out of spec those bolts leave the factory.IMG_5978.jpg

Hard to see, but new radius.

    IMG_5977.jpg

Six thousandths too much head space. About to go back out a drill a hole for a roll pin to prevent the firing pin from rising while shooting.

Quality product and finish. Awesome that the tri-mag fits when packed. 30 rounds on the mag + 10 round mag in the stock with a 50 round box. 90 rounds total in my bug out setup.

That's when you just go buy a KIDD bolt...

I knew I'd dick with a stock 10/22 until it was full custom. So I bought a KIDD 4 years ago. Best...decision...ever...

Just put an Athlon Argos 8-34x56 scope on it the other day. I can finally see Andromeda.

I like tinkering and massaging all I can out off the factory Ruger parts. I have a factory barrel that's been "set back" and reamed by Randy at CPC that will shoot with most aftermarket barrels. Don't get me wrong, Kidd makes nice stuff, but I'd just as soon have a JWH bolt.

It seemed that may be what you liked to do. I would love to have the tools and the knowledge to do that.

And yes there are some very good aftermarket suppliers that make wonderful parts. :) I love that about a 10/22.

Old 10/22 breakdown stock... to custom breakdown stock. A gentleman in CA (his card is in the picture) takes old 10/22 stocks, cuts them down, strips them and then brings out a beautiful finish. This gorgeous girl is maple.

Yeah, it's just kinda a game between a couple of friends of mine. Here's five of mine I took out two weekends ago. The Hogue stocked one is a .17HMR conversion, I have a Barracuda (just like the far left one, it's a.17HM2) stock ordered for it as well.IMG_6017.jpg

Yeah, it's difficult to tell the difference like you said. The JWH bolts seem to carry their radius up a tad further.

    I wouldnt know.

I am able to shoot subsonic's all over my place
And I go out to My buddys house in Ranchita where we can drink beer and shoot all of our guns and BBQ and pretty much do what we want.
I'm not a big fan of Paying to go shoot at a range.

Ebay has a 20% off coupon (P20MEMDAY) until Monday for Memorial day on outdoor items. I bought a new Ruger XB trigger for $50 shipped. Anybody have good experiences with the trigger?

IMG_3340.jpg IMG_3342.jpg I compared the new and original trigger.
BX trigger read ~2 lbs after 5 pulls on the fish scale. The original read a bit over 5lbs after five pulls.

Meet my sexy .17 caliber twins, HM2 & HMR. Built on 10/22 & 10/22 magnum guns. I've posted the HM2 a couple of times, the HMR stock just came today. Couldn't help but to do a comparison pic.IMG_6132.jpgIMG_6136.jpg
