Pretty sure they extended the frame warranty for quite a few years after the initial timeline. Just let them do their thing. It sounds exactly like what happened with mine. Sprayed first and then the service manager wouldn't let me leave in it and was kissing add big time because they blew it with their initial inspection (before I bought it used).

'01-'04 1st gen 15 year (from original in service date) extended warranty for frames - provided corrosion protection was applied by Toyota before the deadline for the state where vehicle was registered. '01s are aging out of warranty this year. My '01 frame was replaced several years ago, and my '03 is still covered for two more years. My dealer checks my truck a couple times a year, and they have done hundreds of Tacoma (and tundra) frame replacements under warranty.

Hey OP, what dealership did you go to to have the inspection done?

'95 - '00 tucks with frames rusted through in any of the key locations were bought back by Toyota; no frames were available for those years. I had a '97 and a '00 bought back, then destroyed by Toyota. Such a waste of perfectly good parts other than the frame.

It would seem that under the 15 year extended warranty these trucks have also aged out of coverage. Check with your dealer.

welcome to the 1st Gen forum, yours is 2nd Gen. our TSB ended in 2012 :(

your frame would only be covered if it was initially inspected, sprayed (most were for the sake of it), and within the 15 year of purchase date. otherwise your SOL.

unfortunately yes, '99 was not part of frame replace. take care of your frame now with whatever protection you want so it lasts.

Let's say the KBB on it is $7k. How much extra value, or amount that you would be willing to pay extra if you new the vehicle had the frame replaced?

frame replace does not increase value, it only keeps it at the correct value. rust will lower value.
