I'm using the Night Breaker (I think "Laser" version) in my headlights. Very pleased with them, nice and bright, seems to have a good cutoff. I'm now definitely considering them for the fogs too based on this thread.

Thanks, I'll give these a shot. I just want something better than the cheapos that came with my fog light kit. Don't really need the light of an imploded sun LOL! But, that H11 upgrade looks good, just not into tearing out a harness I just installed. I do want to do that headlight mod with that upgraded harness though.

If not running a harness check your fuse rating. You'll be over 50% higher wattage than the circuit is intended for. A harness also helps reduce voltage drop resulting in a brighter light. I do not know what the rating is on the pre-2012 trucks.

Think I should just hold off and just get say some OSRAM h10s? I literally have cheap Chinese bulbs in there now. I think anything will be an improvement.

They are not available in an H10, the Optilux are the brightest I am aware of from a reputable manufacture. Just check the fog fuse position in the underhood fuse panel.

Dumb question time... Both H10 and H11 are mentioned here... Are they physically interchangeable?

They are not interchangeable, the bases are different.

    2005-2011 Tacoma = H10 fogs
    2012-2015 Tacoma = H11 fogs

Thanks for the info guys! Really am impressed with this forum and knowledge base in it. You really don't see this very often in the truck community. Makes me happy to have a Tacoma.

So, I installed a set of those Hella Optiplex H10, much better light. Can actually see they're on now vs the cheap lights I had in. Thanks guys!

Nice! Glad you like them with 50% more light output! I wish they came uncoated vs coated white 4000k.

Just bought these bad boys yesterday... Their gonna be here today and installed... I got amber LED's for the fogs and cool white LED conversions for the HID's (low beams). The LED replacments were the most recommended on here by everyone and I simply wanted amber LED's for the fog lights cuz... They look cool and they also serve a utilitarian purpose as well. Stay tuned for an install update (with pics of course!!!!!)

Edit 1: Yes, I got a tow strap for pullin fat bitches

I present to you all, lights that actually make sense now.... Here are the links for them, still gotta test them at night to see if their actually any good. I'll be honest however, the ambers don't seem too bright, still however, gotta try them out tonight.

Edit 1: It only took me 4 tries to get the HID's right cuz I kept changing the bulb for the high beam instead of the low beam... LOL... Other than that, it took me about 10/15 min... No tools needed whatsoever!! Great mod I'd say
