No idea. I doubt we see a diesel tundra option here. I'm surprised toyota hasn't killed it off yet.

MPGs have me sitting me sitting on the fence right now. I was thinking about a 2017 Pro before Pros are no more but I am just going to wait. The MPGs will not be as big a concern when I retire and quit driving so much.

Looks like Toyota could enter the Diesel market , They do have the Hino engine all ready has EPA approved but have to build a 3/4 or 1 ton truck to handle that power plant , its a great motor mated to a Allison .
2018 is going to be a big year for new diesels , ford with F150 and nissan with new frontier suppose to have a diesel .

General rule never buy the first year of a new truck but if Toyota puts the tried and True Hino / Allison combination I would consider picking one up .

Right now I have a 2016 GMC 3500 Duramax for my heavy truck needs , That was the last year for the LML duramax , I have buddies who traded up there 2015 for the new L5P first year and have nothing but problems , Turbos , Rear main seals , Trans problems , the extra 50 hp was not worth the aggravation , Im sure they will work out the bugs but the guys who bought the first year change are screwed .

Toyota has to step up to the plate with a new Turnda , I was happy with my 2016 tundra but was a dated truck.
